    Are you a re-reader?

    Depends on the book :)

    Guilty here as well.

Re-reading-to do it, or not to do it

It really depends on the book, as re-reading a book allows one to find things that they didn't notice the first time around. Also you remember how much you enjoyed the story in the first place or can make you realize how good the book is, if the first time you read the book really wasn't that...

You know you're addicted to reading when...

When all people get you as gifts are either gift cards to bookstores or so many books that you can barely keep up.

    Breaking Books

I usually just get into the book; sometimes I'll read the introduction, especially if its a classic, but for the most part, I just get right into the book. I sometimes read the blurb on the back of the book, but it really depends.

    Good Place to Read

It just helps me concentrate on the book and let me become absorbed in the book without hearing other distractions going on around me.

    Good Place to Read

It depends on where I am; sometimes its on a bus or on the beach or in a movie theatre (before it starts), but usually it has be fairly quiet for me to sit down and read a book and nothing really else going on around me. I have been known to read while watching TV. I also like to put on my...

How do you guys read books? I need advice

I usually try to stay away from things that might slow down my reading and concentrate on other things. While I do use the back of the book when there are explanations that are provided, I don't actively seek out using secondary source material when reading (dictionaries, etc.). I do use...

How Many Books Do You Read in a Year (approx.)?

I'm at 17 so far this year; hope to get a bunch done before I go home at the end of the month.

    LibraryThing

I've been having problems getting into the site since about 8 pm PT and was wondering if those who have a LibraryThing account are having the same problem. I really want to add a book, but it keeps saying that it will be ready in 5 to 10 mintues since I got up this morning at 5:30 PT; it was...

    Quality or quantity or both?

I know that they do and they usually work in schools, having had both my parents work as teachers and having them around for Christmas and summer.

What do you use as a bookmark?

I also use my bus pass for the month, which I wouldn't recommend because I have had times where it has fallen out and then I have to scramble looking for it as it is the way that I get around :) But if you don't have a pocket for your bus pass, its the best way of making sure that its there :)

You are welcome :) Another couple of recommendations: The Birth House Latitudes of Melt

    Quality or quantity or both?

I don't think it is; I do the same thing and usually its because the book interests me. I also happen to pick up books that are quality stuff, at least I hope so. :)

    Quality or quantity or both?

As I was reading the thread about how many books one reads in a year, a thought popped into my head and I wondered how many of you read for quality rather than for quantity or vice versa or even both. As for me, I think I read for a combination of both. While I do read for the quality of a...

    The Maritimes

Don't know if you have read it, but I could recommend The Shipping News. While its not set in PEI, NS, or NB, it is set in Newfoundland. I'm not from the Maritimes, but I hoped I helped.
