read homeland.. first proper fantasy book i ever read and a damned good read, never got around to reading the others, s'pose its becuase i don't see em in the local book shops and i hate waiting for a book...
naked empire wumpped me too but i read it again - i like to punish my self sometimes, and it does work... in a kina wiered way when you haven't slept for 3 days solid.
still looking forward to the next book though, even have it on pre-order.
sf - Anne Mccaffrey / the ship who sang
fant - R. A. Salvator / Homeland (i think that was the title)
horror - if this is just the first one i stated then its steven king / the stand
but if its the 1st one i finished then its H. P. Lovecraft / At The Mountains Of Madness Omnibus(absolutely...
this takes me back.... :) i got given these in my granddads will when he died, they were falling apart and the loose covers were missing but i fixed em with some gaffer tape... Good books although it did take me two readings of the whole trilogy to get it... i was 11 at the time.
i think...
i've read all of them so far including the prequel, which was refreshingly short compared to the main books. i am forced to agree that yes all in all the books do start to get a little stale but i can't sem to put them down... i've just read through the series for the second time and i can't...
i am forced to agree about the nights dawn trilogy... the space alien with famous peeps was over the top and a little sad but the rest was absolutely amasing
i would have to second Cathy_C, Isaac Asimov has ben an inspiration for absolutely loads of authors.
but as she has already called him i'd have to say...
Melanie Rawn - because her books are just full of strength and emotion
Anne MacCaffrey - becuase she was the first author to make me cry...
in no paticular order;
the edding's couple
raymond fiest
anne macaffrey
trudi canavan
terry goodkind
tom clancy
terry brooks
melanie rawn
plato
robert jordan
- their are a few more but i dont think im currrently capable of getting up and looking at my shelves for inspiration at...
i agree with you mate but if you compare any of the others to the davinci coded then you'll notice that it is actually a better book allround, even with the same repetitious plot
trudi cavana
-the magicians guild
-the novice
-the high lord
Melanie Rawn is good with her dragon prince series and the captal series
raymond fiest is another one and he's got a load of books
