I would second Litany's nomination of Weaveworld, but for December instead! I hope to get it for my birthday, which, being at the end of November, would be perfect for a month's delay.
I've just finished a Greene title as well, namely The Third Man, having watched the (excellent) film on Sunday. Very entertaining, he doesn't write beautiful prose but is an excellent storyteller.
Did that have a film made of it? If so, I watched (well, half-watched) it on the coach back from Games Day last weekend. Brilliant, just for this;
Character 1: "The gate is guarded by 60 men, but with his strength, your brains, and my steel, we can get in."
Character 2: "That is not going...
I'm still on Doris Lessing's Shikasta, which so far is excellent, very Last and First Men -esque, with an intrriguing twist on the Creation myth and original sin. Next up is Greg Egan's Permutation City, another recommendation from my physics teacher.
You SKIPPED Shirt Guy Dom days? HOW COULD YOU? But...the vibrating sheep of death...and Fred losing his head on a regular basis...and the parodies, the PARODIES!
I've just finished Cryptonomicon (excellent, superbly crafted, stylish prose, if a few loose ends still left) and am moving on to Doris Lessings' Shikasta. Anyone willing to offer their opinions on either? Evidently there are several fans of Neal Stephenson's tome at least.

I can recommend several anime-specific torrent sites as well if you like that kind of thing, but start off with suprnova.
Penny Arcade, PVP, CTRL ALT DEL and VG Cats are gamer's comics and as such unlikely to be appreciated by a non-gamer, you have to be a bit of an otaku as well to get the most out of Megatokyo, Mac Hall's just generally hilarious and Spells and Whistles is one big RPG spoof. I think they're all...
Download it from the BBC website, but you'll need RealPlayer (a pile of steaming dirt) or the RealPlayer plugin for your browser, because for some unfathomable reason the BBC decided that it would be a sensible course of action to make it prerequisite.
My favourites are two box sets, one of which is a large hardback edition of LotR, printed on beautiful thick cartridge paper and illustrated by Alan Lee (concept artist for the films.) The other is that manga I keep harping on about, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. I'm more paranoid about...
Don't be absurd, the original radio series was always better than the books (it shows that Douglas Adams wrote it first), and I have high hopes for this new series. A lot of the radio series was nigh-improvised, concocted just before or during recording, whereas when Douglas Adams had time to...
As soon as I come home from school, or, at weekends, as soon as I wake up, the PC's on and the downloading of whatever I'm BT-ing at present is reinitiated, then whenever I'm working on my PC MSN Messenger is running in the background, and I'll check my 3 favourite fora at least twice a day...
There hasn't been a single person to show any sign of happiness at this announcement, so how will your going be, as you claim, gladly received to more than those who would regret a departure?
