In this A A Milne poem the cow mentioned is an Alderney. Is an Alderney the same as Jersey cow? There can't be that many cows on Alderney, can there? I think Jersey cows are brown, I'm not sure.
The best thing to do with would be to scour collections of fairy tales (for example Grimm's Fairy Tales ) or a encyclopedia of such. I don't think its one of Hans Christian Andersen's or Oscar Wilde's fairy stories which are quite well known.
This is more a short story rather a book.
Due to hirsuite reasons a man has to copy out part of the Encyclopaedia Brittanica ,he engages a detective to find out why, who in term discovers a crime.
Probably the best thing is to just to experiment and try and read a book as quickly as possible. It doesn't matter if you don't obtain the right information, go back and try again.
I don't actually have a favourite author growing up, I just seemed to have read so many. But it does seem that classic children's books seemed to be read more by adults than children.
