I read it a year or two ago and enjoyed it quite a bit, so I'm surprised at how frequently people list it as one of their least favorite books. I've also seen the MTV movie version, which I highly recommend.
My TBR pile is unbelievable. It will take me at least ten years. Immediately following my current book though, I intend to read Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs, by Chuck Klosterman.
Just finished The Year of Living Biblically: One Man's Humble Quest to Follow the Bible as literally as Possible, by A.J. Jacobs and have now started Mayflower: A Story of Courage, Community, and War, by Nathaniel Philbrick.
I'll buy either. If I have a choice between the two though, I prefer paperback for some of the reasons already listed, because they're cheaer and usually easier to read when I'm laying in bed at night.
I was on vacation, so I couldn't help myself. ;)
Possible Side Effects, Augusten Burroughs
Written on the Body, Jeanette Winterson
Haroun and the Sea of Stories, Salman Rushdie
Anthem, Ayn Rand
Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs, Chuck Klosterman
The Virgin Suicides is wonderful. If you haven't seen the movie, you should see it at some point. A Secret History is a great read too. It's my sister's favorite book.
If it's a classic, I'll keep it. Otherwise, unless I really love it, I'll swap it out for another book. If I had a bigger house and more of a disposable income, it would be a different story. As it is, I can rarely afford new books and I've already got four bookshelves crammed full.
Yes, I did. I would recommend reading them in order if possible.
I have not read the last few because they got more and more unrealistic as they went along. The first few are delicious though! :)
Oh man...a local school today had a used book sale. I went overboard.
