"Last Chance to See" and "Kabale and Liebe"
Already two weeks ago if finished Last Chance to See by Douglas Adams and Mark Carwardine. It's an amazing book, i absolutely love it. It's a book i'll definitely read again and again and again..., sooner or later.
It is an immensely important and...
Yeah, it's the same with me, i also usually don't read after i got home from work. The easy solution for this problem, for me, was: I started to read in work ;) and because of that i usually finish one book per week, because i can (most of the time) read 30 to 50 pages on one day, just because...
A few days ago i finished The Trial by Franz Kafka. It was an amazing book, really a great experience. Sometimes it was very ironic and, although it deals with serious subject, it's hard to always take it serious, just like Josef K. sometimes have troubles taking this entire Trial serious!
But...
Oh, okay, i misunderstood you. I thought you were saying that Douglas Adams and Philip K. Dick aren't a must read ;)
But now i understand what you meant, thanks for making this clear!!
Hey, i have the same problem as you :D But right now i avoid every bookstore
Nonetheless i still have a huge pile of books i already bought and still haven't read:
Last Chance to See - Douglas Adams and Mark Carwardine
Watership Down - Richard Adams
The Practice of the...
Hm, i can't really argue with you here Wabbit, because, though i'm a quick reader at the moment, i still haven't read Stranger in a Strange Land so far
And, sitting here and having a look at my pile of books i still want to read before Stranger , i guess it will still take me a...
So far i sadly haven't read anything from Heinlein, but i definitely want to read Stranger in a Strange Land and after it, i'll decide if i'll read his other works too!!
By the way, how do you like it so far?? Please, don't forget i haven't read it yet, so please no spoilers ;)
If you are interested in sci-fi i think especially Douglas Adams is a must read ;) but also Philip K. Dick and Stanislaw Lem, especially Solaris [though, i can only guess it, because i also haven't read him :D ]
I do consider Lem and Dick a must read especially for sci-fi!
Well and since...
You are too quick, i guess you have a lot of practice in it ;)
How often does someone throws a banana in your direction on a day?
Stanislaw Lems most famous novel is Solaris but it may be, that his name is written differently. I'm not sure how his name is written right now, because i...
You have never read Philip K. Dick  [flungs a banana in your general direction]
Although sci-fi is a genre i really love, i also haven't read much of the more famous or "critically acclaimed" authors!! I have never read Arthur C. Clark, Stanislaw Lem, Isaac Asmiov, ....
I have read...
This is also a topic that interests me very much. But not only animal rights in sci-fi literature actually!!
From your list i have only read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? and, if you are going to add it to your list, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series.
If you have already read...
I studied Theater-, Film- und Medienwissenschaft i think it's the same subject as Drama, but i'm not sure
I will continue studying it, after i finished this year of work and i will probably take Literature as a second subject!!
I don't know the anime you mentioned, so i can only suggest you Mangas which are my favorites!
I highly enjoy the Berserk mangas, which are extremely brutal, but most importantly tell a great story and develope great and deep characters. Guts is porbably one of my favorite manga characters...
Yes, i am, but right now i have to work, i have to do my Zivildienst (don't know how i can translate it into english, best translation would be: civil work or social work i guess!), and because i have to do this work, i have "hollydays" from studying. Which means i took 2 Semesters off from...
