loved it! One of my favorite reads from last year. It's the better of the three that they've released in that series.
I love dit. WHat did you think about her theory of the maids?
I find myself reading lots and lots of older fiction myself. The Miss Julia series is something that I eye everytime I walk past it. I actually picked up the first book yesterday and thought about reading it. I went with James Baldwin instead, but Miss Julia's definately on the TBR list...
I work at Borders. There's always something else I see that I want. It's a good thing they let us check books out, which helps keep me from buying some. But then I find myself reading something and loving it, so then I want to own it.
for me it depends on how long the book is, how far into it I am, and what book it is. Fahrenheit 451 is only like 160 pages, and I only have 40 left when it really started bugging me, but it was only 40 pages so I finished it.
When I tried to read Atlas Shrugged I gave up at 110 because I...
I did a search, and most of the threads about her were old or only had 4 or 5 posts in them. So I thought I'd start my own thread.
Who here is familiar with Daphne's work?
I always meant to read Rebecca after seeing it the movie mentioned in the documentary The Celluloid Closet. Then...

I have to say that while I liked the premise I didn't like the...
I read Wicked and found it slow and hard to get into. I really didn't want it to that in depth into the politics and religion of Oz. That really ruined it for me. The only reason I finished it was because I was reading it for a book club. Out of the 8 people in our book club only 2 of us...
I've written letters to a lot of authors. Most of them have been emails because the author has their email on their official site. I've also talked with a few who had profiles on tribe.net
Just about every one of the has been really appreciative of the letter.
I've bought way too many books in the past couple of weeks. I need to stop. I have enough books to keep my busy for at least a year and just keep buying stuff.
The few times I've walked into Half Price Books and come out with nothing I always wonder if there is something wrong with me.
Dialects don't bother me too much once I get used to them. Once in a while I find myself reading portions outloud to myself to get a grasp on it.
I HATE when authors right in a foreign language and then don't translate. Especially when it's dialogue. Whatever the character is saying must...
I was trying to calculate the total amount of days missed. Someone said 13, and if that's the correct number the company I work at would have hired you. If you miss 12 days in a full year you get fired, so if you missed 13 days is 7 months you'd be gone.
I don't think that's all that...
