    Recently Purchased/Borrowed

I finally got a copy of Henry Bellamann's first novel Petenera's Daughter. It was written in 1926, and because he wasn't very well known until he wrote Kings Row 15 years later, it was hard to find a copy for under 100 bucks.

    Passing on books.

Usually as I'm clearing out my bookcase I'll take the books to Half Price Books and sell them. A lot of times I'll have some stuff that I know they won't buy, or things like advanced readers that I can't sell and I'llleave those in the lobby of the apartment complex and someone always snatches...

Do you like to read with background noise, or need complete silence?

Wow, You guys get a little over zealous with the, "OMG we talked about this six months ago" stuff. I like to listen to music when I read, and I can also read while the tv is on. The only time I have an issue is when people are talking loudly around me. I'm not sure why I can handle a TV but...

How do you find the time?

I'm a manager in a bookstore, and the first thing I usually have to do when I'm interviewing is point out that there's no time for reading while on the clock. Most people are shocked by this revelation.

How do you find the time?

I have at least an hour everyday on my lunch break, and I usually read for an hour before I go to bed. That's a minimum. Mostly for me it's just a matter of turning off the tv and curling up with a book. I can mulit-task though. I can read if there's music or a tv on, and I know not a lot...

Jenna Jameson: Make Love Like A Porn Star

Actually, if any of you have read tinstead of just criticizing the people who have, it's a decent read. I wouldn't give it five stars, but it's an interesting book. If you like celeb bios that give you a different view of the subject this one is excellent. Jameson is actually a very smart...

Wicked by Maguire. I try to be a little diplomatic about it, but really I hated the book!

    vida winter?

Yeah, a quick google search confirms. You can't find Vida Winter because she's a character in a book.

    vida winter?

Is she a real writer? I read The Thirteenth Tale (and loved it) and thought she was figment of Setterfield's imagination.
