    When do you read?

I read at night, before bed. I work until after midnight, though, so it's a bit later than the poll option.

Do you like to read with background noise, or need complete silence?

I *need* music or TV in the background. Oddly enough, I'm too distracted by silence.

    your to-read list

I have lists everyone imaginable. Unfortunately I rarely follow them. I'm much more likely to wander through the library, bring home big stacks, and then go from there.

How Many Books Do You Read in a Year (approx.)?

I jot down the names of what I've read, and little notes about how much I did or didn't like them. I average at about 120/yr.

Are you picky about the condition of your books?

I used to be incredibly neurotic about my books. I never bent the spine, folded pages, or anything that would make the book look even slightly newer than perfect. Heh, now, I don't care anymore. I buy all of my books used, cheap, so I'll take folded, bent books that look like they've been...

    what's your book shopping process?

I only buy used books. I love to leave enough time to go in and browse. I look for titles I recognize from my overly-extensive wish list (1200 items, ack!) or just look around for something that catches my eye. My rule is that I don't spend more than 10 dollars in a trip and try not to spend...

    American Girl series...

I read them. I think Addy came along right after I stopped reading. My favorites were Samantha and Molly. I loved the Christmas stories. I always wanted one of those dumb dolls but they were so expensive.
