I found this to be the funniest book I have ever read, hands down. xD It's by David Sedaris, and is a book of essays about his life. One of the few books that kept me laughing out loud throughout its entirety.
Here is a short bit: He's in his 40s, in college in France, with a bunch of...
This really depends on the type of book that you are reading. xD Like, I would approach a mystery much differently than I approach a short story collection.
I'm in school too, and so looking up words in the dictionary while I read has boosted my vocabulary immensely. Yeah, it can get kind...
Ray Bradbury has some amazing short stories, and not too hard to read. Try The Illustrated Man. :)
On a harder note, but worth it:
The Dubliners- James Joyce. An awesome collection of short stories. Don't be scared off by the name Joyce, its an awesome read, especially stories like...
I'm a little unsure of what the question is asking, so I'll answer two different ways.
When I read, occasionally I will get so immersed in my reading that if something were to happen, say the phone ringing, I will be startled and not quite remember myself as quickly. But this doesn't often...
I'll read fiction, philosophy, and poetry... I used to be into sci-fi, but it's really not me thing. Thrillers/horror scare me.
Postmodern fic is my favorite.

My favotite poem of his would probably be Love Sonnet XVII.. so beautiful.
I do not love you as if you were the salt-rose, or topaz,
Or the arrow of carnations that fire shoots off;
I love you as certain dark things are loved,
In secret, between the shadow and the soul.
I love you as...
I reccently purchased the book, but haven't actually started reading it yet.
My english teacher had assigned us at the begining of the year to write an essay on 'What is Quality in Thought and Statement'? We all looked at him like he was insane, and I don't think I have ever...
Yes... for me, I went from scifi/fantasy to fiction, then from the 'popular' books to ones that were actually good. (By popular, I don't mean bestseller, but what most 15 years olds in my school are reading, if they read at all...you would be suprised how many people have only ever read 'Harry...
Woo.. this is confusing. -.-
My mother never read the book, no. And no, she didn't exactly *embarass* me at the library, no one that I knew was around, but I did feel a little bad.. I don't want her to think I'm some perverted kid that likes to read erotic fiction for fun.
I don't really...
