AFI's new style is just too poppy overly-dramatic. They've lost their punk roots. The phrase "sold out" may be overused, but I think it applies in this case. And honestly, do they really expect to be taken seriously when Davey is sporting this god-awful haircut...

Against Me! is awesome. Fall Out Boy... I will admit to liking some of their earlier stuff, but Patrick's lack of singing ability is grating, and Pete Wentz has to be the most annoying person on the planet. The Used are okay, so is The Academy Is..., and older AFI. Vesp, try listening to...

What Book Changed Your Political Thinking?

Just today in U.S. History class, I noticed a brief reference to Anarchism and the McKinely assassination. It basically just said that Anarchists were violent radicals. That's all it said, even though I believe Anarchism was quite a large movement during that time. And CrimethInc does have...

    Other choices...(bit of a rant)

I do like a lot of the Libertarian party's platform, but I believe (correct me if I'm wrong) that they want to remove all Government regulation of markets, letting corporations go unchecked, which I don't see working for anyone's benefit. By the way, this great article was just posted...

    Disagree with ending?

The Chocolate War is his most popular book and it's a bit better than I Am The Cheese I think.

    Disagree with ending?

I LOVED that ending. Robert Cormier always has depressing endings that you don't expect. He's awesome.

    Question Game

A white Chrysler Seabring with a brown top that I got back in August. I totaled it in an accident two months later while trying to light a cigarette (the cop didn't hear about that part, I blamed it on the rain). I HATED it, so I was glad to be rid of it. I have a silver/blue Dodge Stratus now...

What Book Changed Your Political Thinking?

Now that I think about it, it was probably George Orwell who got me interested in politics to start with, so the credit goes to him.

What Book Changed Your Political Thinking?

Various writers turned me on to Anarchism. Emma Goldman, Peter Kropotkin, Michael Bakunin - couple others.

    Orgies! Cannibalism! Castration!

I like the last line. As for the rest, I suppose I can see a message, but it's not enjoyable to read.

    The Book Depository

You just can't beat Amazon's Marketplace. Used books for insanely low prices. I'm addicted. Not to mention I have no idea how much a pound is in dollars. Edit: I just saw that you live in New Zealand... ignore me.

My final message to all members.

Are you complaining about criticism? If so, you deserve it because you can't even write a coherent message board post.

need help finding certain type of book

Perfect suggestion. Robert Cormier has also written some other great books. I also suggest A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, though it can be a bit graphic.
