I read Isaac's storm a few years ago and recommended it as a staff choice when I worked at a bookstore. It certainly opens up your mind to what actually happens during and after a big hurricane. I saw the documentary of Isaac's storm on Discovery Channel a couple of nights ago which was really...
One of my friends has already read this and I have a copy that I've just started. My friend said it was BRILLIANT! (we are both in the book trade and have proof copies). I'm finding it a bit hard going but I will perservear(sp).
I also adore Philipa Gregory. I loved the Other Boleyn Girl and the Queens Fool. The Virgin's Lover ,I found wasn't quite so good.
Not long to wait for her new book though, Nov 2005, about the early life of Katherine of Aragon. :D
A friend of mine kept recommending me to read 'The Alchemist' by Paulo Coelho. She said it was one of her favourite books. I read it, as I love spiritual books, and found it was completely boring. Didn't learn a thing and I feel I wasted time reading this when I could of read something...
Apollo 13
Twister
The Day after tomorrow
Elizabeth (cate Blanchette)
Armageddon
Volcano
All the Harry Potters
as you can see I love natural disaster movies
My ultimate favourite character has to be Hercule Poirot, he's so cool! :) Other fav's are:
Severus Snape - Harry Potter books
Morgaine - Mists of Avalon
I've just finished 'The Falls' by Ian Rankin. I haven't read any crime books for ages and a friend loaned it to me. It was the first Rankin book I've read and I really enjoyed it. :) So I think I probably will try another one of his later on.
My favourite author has to be Agatha Christie. She just keeps me guessing and not once have I figured out 'Who dunnit' before the end of the book. I can't get enough of her books. :)
