I never said anything about Sirius. He's not really a possibility here, either, which I'm sure you know, since you must have read book 5. I don't know IF anybody will be sacrificed but I could imagine Dumbledore jumping in or one of the other teachers. Maybe even Snape  . We know...
It doesn't take a master mind to figure out it's Harry who's going to live - of course. That's the whole purpose of the book series - the fight against evil. Plus, it's still children's books so why would Jo Rowling kill her hero? She mocks us with remarks but she would never, ever do that...
@Bernard: I liked Stardust, too. What's the other book you read? Neverwhere? That's what I read and I liked it even more than Stardust!!
Anyway, I'm reading Márquez now, but tomorrow, when amazon hopefully delivers my new books, I'll start right into part 2 of the Guardians of Time trilogy by...
I'm currently reading "Love in the times of cholera" by Gabriel García Márquez and I plan to catch up a little on my classics. Jane Eyre and some Jane Austen novels are waiting for me. Then, I'll definitely read The Dark by Marianne Curley (because it's part 2 of her Guardians of Time...
"It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife."
Jane Austen - Pride and Prejudice
my recent purchases:
Jane Austen - Emma
Jane Austen - Persuasion
Jane Austen - Northanger Abbey
Marianne Curley - The Dark
Charlotte Bronte - Jane Eyre
Laura Esquivel - Like Water for Chocolate (in German)
I'm readnig "Love in the time of cholera" now and I'm melting away with every sentence. Such a wonderful way of writing... it's simply beautiful. Which is why I have to go offline now and read some more ;) .
I'd say about 100 :) . Maybe a little more, maybe fewer... I never count them exactly. But I read between 2 and 15 books a month so that sums up! During holidays I usually read more so most of what I read in a year is read during summer vacation.
JK Rowling - Harry Potter (all of them)
Louisa May Alcott - Little Women
JRR Tolkien - Lord of the Rings
Christopher Moore - Lamb
JM Barrie - Peter Pan
Hey, I read the first one in that series! It was fun. What did you think of the other books?
I'm currently reading Code to Zero by Ken Follett. Liking it pretty much :D
The Named - Marianne Curley was my best read this summer, although I read Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice which was pretty amazing, too! I love the way Jane Austen writes... there's such a lot of beautiful words!
Definitely Lamb: The Gospel according to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore. I love this book and couldn't read a single page without laughing out loud. My sister found that so funny to watch that she bought the book, too. Now we're both Moore addicts :p
Well, finished both books yesterday and am now reading Holes by Louis Sachar, which seems a very nice book. I need to know why they make those boys dig holes all the time ;)
Actually, this phenomenon has happened to me a lot lately! First, I love Nicholas Sparks adaptations - they're usually better than the books, but I think only because in the movies (A Walk To Remember and The Notebook) they show much more little things than make you love the characters and...
1. JK Rowling
2. Ralf Isau
3. Katherine Applegate
The first one's pretty obvious. Since I haven't found anything better than Harry Potter yet, JK is my author goddess :D .
Ralf Isau is a German fantasy writer who excels at mixing reality, history, great characters and fantasy into an...
