I've only recently started reading books which have been translated. This book forum has a lot to answer for! I'm in the middle of Gabriel Garcia Marquez at work, Haruki Murakami at home, and I read Le Grand Meaulnes by Alain-Fournier last year. The latter, I loved. Sad, romantic, poignant. I...
Oh God! I feel all faint. My favourite ever film. The mountains, the trees. the rivers, the waterfall, the DRUMBEAT, horses, romantic suicides (?), passion, loyalties, valour, Cora's beautiful eyes, the son who fell to his death, the dignity of the father, Hawkeye's nose . . . Hawkeye's nose . ...
Oh Ashlea. You are scaring me. Seriously. I suspect you have all been reading me wrong. When I say I don’t understand poetry, it is not false modesty. I achieved Higher English at school and dropped out of Sixth Year Studies (final year). I didn’t go to University.

Answer B: Swoon :o...
Thank you, Wabbit. And you would do well to heed Tugger's words. Lady Samurai conceal six-inch daggers up their sleeves: I am now armed and dangerous
Third Man Girl
Oh, don't ask me to do that North/South thing. I'm FEMALE for God's sake.
Keep the sun on your back, and the moss on the left side of the trees. Look for a garden with three trees, one nest, several batboxes. Stop flapping your wings and LAND GENTLY.
Don't worry about the bats - they're...
Lovely, apart from the wet pants. I know you're talking about trousers, but for a British reader, 'wet pants' doesn't work.
Surprised Wabbit didn't mention it, but then Wabbits don't wear pants - or trousers ;)
