well, i was told that watermelon or grapes would grow out of my ears if i ate the seeds. one time after dinner my mother was eating grapes and accidentally ate a seed. i joked with her and told her they would grow out of her ears. she was in the kitchen cleaning up and came out with a grape...
i read your post and started singing "i am 16 going on 17 . . . " in my head!
i am glad you are here and wanted to say to not feel intimidated. there are many others here around your age and they are a great contribution and i have enjoyed reading their posts and their views on things, so...
i have broken my tailbone (coccyx) - several times (in gym class, falling off a broken chair shortly after that first one and rebreaking it, during childbirth!, etc.)
i have broken my middle finger on my left hand most recently (six weeks ago and still healing) and i don't really understand...
don't just go by age (on the site i listed above), though, as many books are listed for advanced readers, as many classical educators use a rigorous approach to learning through literature
except for Asperger's syndrome, which is really a social phobia to the extreme, but is actually on the low end of the autism spectrum. with Asperger's, also, they do know they have the phobia. it sounds like your cousin has what i would deam classical autism - the original signs and symptoms...
just wanted to mention that in another post about which book people must read i had put Alexander Dolgun - An American in the Gulag and wanted to let you know that Solzhenitsyn actually interviewed Dolgun and used some of his stories from the gulag in the book about Denisovich. That character...
I never had dreams about my teeth, but every time I was pregnant I had dreams that my newborn babies were born with enormous adult teeth! LOL! I have heard that teeth dreams have something to do with fluctuations in hormones, so maybe check and see if you are ovulating or going through your...
I have read a cheesy Christian series, too, but won't admit which one. I actually didn't read the last two books of it. It was just like eating a porcelain plate.
I third that! I'm glad I'm not the only adult to feel this way. I'm an HP nerd! I actually found this forum searching for something about one of the books and came upon a thread on the HP forum. lol
I am probably going to be made fun of for admitting this, BUT I started The Inheritance...
:( go back and tell them. the one close to me will always give me new ones or a refund. for instance, i opened my new bag of baby carrots yesterday and they were slimey! oh yes, i'll be returning them. yuck!
oh, i had wonderful lovely peaches today and plums, too! yum!
get them fresh from a farmer's market or stand and not at a store - they tend to have been frozen or refrigerated or artificially ripened and don't taste as great.
:P i didn't see that question. i thought i answered the one about punting! lol
i can't remember if i have, but last year one of my twins was nearly hit walking out from behind a van (without looking of course  ) and stepped right in front of a car that mercifully slammed on the...
I have a boxed paperback set from Ballantine that also has The Hobbit in it and it says it is the only blah, blah, blah from Tolkien. I won't repeat it all. It has everything - maps, indices, etc. Pretty nice. I just recently found it at a little over $5.00. It is a first edition of the...
I tend to be hyper-emotional, so cry easily, so have cried through too many books to list, but I'll name a few.
The first book I remember crying over was Flowers for Algernon. I think I was probably around 8 or 9. I know there were probably others, then, but that one really sticks out in my...
i'll be glad to. i'll even try to get the info on how to get to the test. you have to go through a bunch of steps, or at least last time you did. they always have info on how you can get there on geeky sites i visit.
oh wait. i forgot this was the lie thread. in that case, i am totally...
*phew* so glad it isn't just me! and i'll be nerdier in telling you they weren't OWL results, but the WOMBAT! LOL! there should be another wombat test coming up soon. ;)
well, i haven't on the cam or any other that i can think of or remember, unless you count one bayou or another in louisiana when i would visit my relatives during holidays, but i don't even know the names of them.
and yes, i meant american football. LOL can you imagine someone "punting" you...
