1. It's a book I feel like I should read.
So very true !
3. Everyone I know is recommending it.
Yep! The hype gets to me.
4. It's intimidatingly enormous.
I made an oath never to read any book over 500 pages. Life is just too short !
.
I didn't read this book, but I read two of Manguel's books : A History of Reading and The Reading Diary . Delightful books to say the least. I think any lover of books will tremendously enjoy reading his books.
What is the most overrated book you have read ?
For me, it was The Thirteenth Tale by Diane Setterfield. I couldn't even finish the book and found it so overhyped.
There's also The Bridges of Madison County, one of the rare books I want to throw at the wall while struggling to finish.
How...
Sometimes. I pick books to read depending on my mood at that moment and I don't always start reading another book directly after finishing the previous one.
I thoroughly enjoyed reading Gandhi's autobiography : The Story of My Experiments With Truth.

Every time I read (or re-read) Fahrenheit 451 I ask myself the same question : what book would I choose to protect ? and every time I come up with a different answer.
Books I thought of :
Nabokov's "The Real Life of Sebastian Knight"
Graham Greene " The Quiet American" .
Golding's...
Strangely enough, the best romance novel and the worst romance novel I've ever read both belong to the same author ,Robert James Waller .
"Slow Waltz in Cedar Bend" was the good read , while "The Bridges of Madison County" was the absolutely bad one.
For me, I think it was more than a year , close to 15 months . I went into some sort of a reader's block and I barely finished reading 2 books the entire time , so buying new books was out of question when I could barely read what I had.
Hello everyone :)
I finished reading "Fatal Purity:Robespierre and the French Revolution " by Ruth Scurr. It's a historical account of Robespierre's life and his influential rule in the revolution , especially during The Reign of Terror.
It was an excellent read :stars5:
