    What is your favorite genre?

Normally when in a bookstore I go to the philosophy section, then the religious studies section (though these days there isn't anything to get there except for hundreds of books about the $#*@!#( DaVinci Code... ), then poetry, fiction, and history. Occasionally I'll stop for a look...

Last paragraph in the book you're reading now

I'm not ruining the book for myself, so I'll just read the last paragraph of the last chapter I finished. When Father Boudreau reached the head of the church, he circled the casket, waving the censer, filling the air with acrid smoke. When the censer had been placed next to the boat of...

    Hi

Its a crop of a self-portrait by Egon Schiele, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Egon_Schiele I've been going to Saint Mary's in Halifax for three years, I'm relatively indifferent to it. I read Fight Club a couple years ago, but honestly don't remember too much of it. Its been a quick read so far...

    Kobo Abe?

I think this thread is more or less sci-fi. Has anyone here read anything by Japanese writer Kobo Abe? He was active from the 50's up until his death in the early 90's, I believe. His books are relatively hard to find, at least around here at least. I've only ever managed to find one, Inter Ice...

    Greatest Living British Author

Ah, the wonderful, blurred line between "best author" and "I haven't heard of any of these other guys, so I should vote for Rowling. Oh well, not too many hard feelings. I honestly don't know a terrible amount about living British writers, but it is kind of lame I feel that Harold Pinter didn't...
