I've had a lot of trouble getting reading time in now that I'm off for the summer. I don't have a regular schedule and reading often gets last priority
That's interesting. I guess a next logical question would be, which books have you folks put down for any reason, and then successfully picked up reading again?
I put down Kushiel's Dart for almost a year, and then finished it the summer after I started it. I suppose schoolwork got in the way.
Are there books sitting on your shelf that you started to read, but haven't finished? What books are they? Why didn't you read the whole thing? Where did you stop? Why? Do you hope to continue one day? Or are you glad to leave them to gather dust?
I'm definitely a Xena fan. I have all six seasons. However, I felt they were best in dramatic episodes. Very few of the comedic episodes ever appealed to me. The only one I can think of that I enjoyed was in the last season when they tried to set mortal Ares up as a farmer.

No, it makes a lot of sense. I found it to be much more artistic than most science fiction. More natural as well - much more how real life looks like rather than the sanitary scifi we so often see.
All right, fess up. What is that book hidden under your bed? What is that tv show you watch when no one is around? What is the film you walk into with sunglasses on? What are the books, shows and movies that you are hesitant to admit to liking?
I believe that dialog is punctuated differently in a lot of European literature. At least what I've read in the original Russian and Polish doesn't often use quotation marks. Even the classics.
Do you seek recommendations for books from anyone in particular? Family? Friends? Favorite reviewers? Why do you trust this(these) particular person or people to give good recommendations?
