    Writer achivements

To me the mark of a true author is their ability to extract emotion from the reader. To get them into the story enough to cry at a tragic death, or feel outrage at some conjured up injustice. That takes the story to the next level. Its not just words on paper, your living it.

I just recently had to read that book for school. The writing style was certainly different. Very interesting, though admittedly not one of my favorite books.

    Who are you leaning towards?

I'd rather go Republican than vote for Obama. Not that I think that he's a bad person, I just don't think he'd be a good leader.

    Your favorite fantasy series

Find me one book that doesn't extend off of others. In this day and age virtually no idea is original any more; just a new twist on an old story. The trick is taking a worn out theme, and retelling it in a different way, giving it new life.

    Your favorite fantasy series

Harry Potter does actually have a lot of meaning interwoven in it. Rowling really does her research! I mean even the character names alone are very symbolic. Take the name Sirius for example. It's derived from the star Sirius, which happens to be reffered to as THE DOG STAR; which happens to be...

    Books you quit/dropped

Wuthering Heights-tried several times, but I always end up throwing it down in annoyance Twilight-I liked New Moon well enough, and I did manage to make it more than half way through the novel; but I just can't bring myself to finish it. I'm not a big romance fan, and it was just so corny...

    Recommend a very good (semi-)obscure fantasy/sf book

Fire-Us trilogy. Those books are simply amazing, and Jennifer Armstrong is such a talented writer! They are honestly so addicting I've read them all at least 6 times! ^_^. Prolly shouldn't have started them in 3rd grade however....lol

Books you would NOT SUGGEST to your kids. Why? At what age would you recommend it?

personally I wouldn't "not" reccomend any books to children; judging from expeirience it just makes them more inclined to read them. To see "whats sooo forbbiden" about them. ^_^
