Perhaps these words ain't lovely, but I just recalled the phrase "dab hand" and have a general sense that it means to be pretty good at something. Anyone know if this is accurate? Haven't heard this one in many years and I'm mainly wondering what level of expertise it's meant to describe.:)
Our town has a new and fabulous library. A big fundraising drive made it happen, and yes, there are new computers, but many new books and shelves, lots of periodicals - same amount of videos as before.:D And an in-house used book store staffed by volunteers to help funding. We are so lucky! And...

Then and than is a fairly simple differentiation.
"Than" is a word used only for quantity/quality comparisons. Used when something is greater or lesser, as in the mathematical terms, <,>.
"Then" is a word used for time or logic.
Time example: "They are leaving at eight. We will go then...
Like SFG, I read one or two hours at night, then I read another half hour in the morning. This and a few extra hours over the weekend enable me to read an average of seven books each month. Free time is highly variable. Oh, and when the rest of the family is watching cartoons I'll often get in...
