I finally finished. This was a frustrating read for me.
There was much to like - the early discussion about the nature of memory, Yambo's return to his childhood country home in Solara, the WW II portion as he struggles to determine whether he was a true fascist, his inability to reconcile...
Sitaram, my comments about your posts has nothing to do with forum rules. I was only suggesting that the way in which you present your new threads makes it difficult for some to enter into a dialogue with you. You are not a guest, but a member of TBF.
I was not suggesting that you stop...
Sitaram, I'll echo what the other two have said.
I hope you take this as a constructive criticism. It's obvious that you're passionate about books, literature and ideas. You post interesting topics, but it's a bit daunting to get through all the links and quotes. It's like you've...

As for LeClair, I'm sure a good part of the reason they signed him was to give some veteran leadership and guidance to a young team - esp. Sidney Crosby. I don't envy Sidney, he's going to have an...
Stewart, you're hurting my feelings. :(
Really, the best way to deal with troll-like behaviour is to ignore it. Trolls only thrive when people respond by taking their bait. The 'ignore' feature helps you avoid posts from those you find aggravating. The downside is that you might miss...
It may be true for you, but around here the weather is mild year-round and very few people really *need* those types of vehicles. Mostly, I see people with +++ disposable income and a new status toy. All they do is drive in the city to work or shopping! I mean, really, how many people need a...
The problem is they (the gas-guzzlers) affect all of us. They increase demand, thereby driving up the price which then affects everybody's price at the pump. So, in effect we are footing their gas bill.
