Magician by Raymund E. Fiest! It's slow going and there's alot of seemingly unneccesary stuff included. I'm 90% of the way through and feel - in some respects - the story has yet to flourish. It's quite enjoyable though, i just hope that when I finish I'll understand what's been going on...
