This is the first full review I've written in years so yes, it is amateurish, I am an amateur after all, and inconsistent. I did some editing but this took too long to come up with as it is so the bits I left out are going to stay left out and the inconsistency is staying in. Writing this did...
To paraphrase: I'd like to do well on my homework so please answer(anwsers?) carefully even if I am incapable of putting forth a concentrated effort myself.
Buy, or look it up it is free for crying out loud, The Elements of Style and do your own homework. Also consider that proper spelling...
I wasn't directing my reply at you personally. My post was not harsh. Regardless, this issue is a pet peeve of mine. Too many people use lack of time as an excuse for not doing things. Saying "I don't have the time" is actually saying "I don't want to take the time to do that now." I'm not...
Exactly! Time is not found! We all have the same amount of time. Whether you have a 70 hour a week job, 10 kids, or live alone with no job underneath a library we all have the same amount of time. How you choose to use it, caring for family, making money, watching TV or posting on discussion...
Me too.
Figured I'd post my very short review of The Crying of Lot 49 here.
The Crying of Lot 49, Thomas Pynchon. 5/5 152 pages.
This was fun! Really neat book about paranoia and excess. About a lot more as well but I only finished last night and it's still percolating away. Much...
Notice how much better the grammar is in this post?
Smila, I've been in and out of here since I joined due to uneven moderation. There's a history of it so if you're hanging around in hopes it'll get better...
Just wanted to add to this for anyone looking to read Ulysses. I've discovered that if you listen to the audio book, even just a bit, it reveals the style which is one of the things that can be tedious about this book.
Blasphemer! Mentioning Fyodor in Stevie's thread! :P
It's not necessarily pop-cultural references. IT just has no timelessness. Having difficulty quantifying exacly what I mean... More of a style thing I guess. Like when you listen to music from the 80s, the production qualities just...
Yeah off the top of my head it is true. My 90% number could be off by a small margin, I pulled it out of my ass. If someone wants to do the math on the ratio of reward winners go for it. It would of course be specious reasoning to use that alone as evidence that women are inferior writers to...
To Kill a Mockingbird: Your BB Gun Manual
Lord of the Flies: Magnifying Glass Fun!
The Good Earth: Tasty Sandbox Treats
Blindness: Masturbation and You
His purpose isn't lost on me. I know he's intentionally being provocative but he's just not good at it. Maybe if he were more provocative than stupid it would work. I love a good troll once in a while but he's not a good troll, he's just dumb.
To do this topic well mention that well over...
