Entertainment's gotta be number one.
Reading a book, to me, is like watching a movie. Except in a lot of cases much better story-lines and characters.
And sometimes I read to gain knowledge.
I saw it for the first time yesterday. It's good, I enjoyed it at least. Comparing it to the first one, well, there's an equally large twist in the end.
Yes, I've read Life Expectancy and Jimmy Tock is the main character in that book.
Also, I think in dragon tears a hobo keeps telling this detective 'tick tock, tick tock... they're coming for you at midnight' or something like that.
I've never met any authors, unfortunately, but I have exchanged emails with a few.
I sent an e-mail to Douglas Preston and he replied rather quickly and was very gracious that I had enjoyed his work, he also freely answered my questions.

Ah, I'm glad there are other who feel the same way I do about Preston and Child. Definitely a great team of writers, I love their work.
I've read Relic, Reliquary, Cabinet of Curiosities, and I tried Still Life With Crows but at the time, I just didn't really get into it so I put it down...
Vampire$ by John Steakley
Has only written 1 other (great) sci-fi book. A man of few, but great words.
Also like many other people have suggested "I Am Legend" by Richard Matheson. The man who inspired King. I personally have not read it but I hear it's wonderful.
The Shining I hear is VERY scary.
And Intensity was VERY good although... it was more psychological horror.... and it wasn't really that scary to me and I'm one who scares easily. But it's usually the supernatural stuff that scares me.
I wish people would elaborate more. They just pour out a list of great authors and leave us hanging. What's that about? :confused:
