I know there's horror threads already...

:) I remember feeling the exact same way when I first started it. Very, very good book. I'm planing on re-reading it. Also, when you're done with that, try Watchers by Dean Koontz. :)

    Most Disappointing Authors?

Phillip K. Dick. I was trying to read Lies, Inc. and I couldn't even get past like 5 chapters. It was so confusing and stupid-- the author didn't give you any background, didn't know what the hell he was thinking and why, etc. I hated it. But I only picked up his book because I'd heard...

    Dean Koontz

Intensity was pretty intense. Try that one. Also, if you have a fear of clowns Life Expectancy will double it. Not as scary as it was funny though. Good book.

    Dean Koontz: Life Expectancy

Halo, you're awesome. :) Whadda ya say, Stewie? :D Intensity was one of the best books I've come across.

    Dean Koontz: Life Expectancy

    Of course, of course. :)

    Dean Koontz: Life Expectancy

He writes/wrote a lot of great books. So there was one book with a crab that spits out diamonds through it's anus, maybe that's where "Bad Place" came from, too. In all seriousness though, to me, it seems like his "game" is being stepped up. With Velocity, Life Expectancy, and Forever Odd...

    Dean Koontz: Life Expectancy

Yep. Unfortunately, it's true. But there are plenty of great books by him as well. IMO, Koontz is a lot better than King...

    Dean Koontz: Life Expectancy

Ah, yes. Supernatural horror isn't my cup of tea anyway.

    Dean Koontz: Life Expectancy

Not a dog-lover? Haha, I'm kidding. But in all seriousness, if you're going to pick up a Dean Koontz book, know what you're getting yourself into. Books I'd recommend would be: "Watchers"-- although I warn you, there is a dog. "Velocity"-- his newest one and to be honest, I...

    Dean Koontz: Life Expectancy

I'm reading Watchers by Dean Koontz now. And Velocity is next, I suppose. Are there any other books you'd recommend? And I'll be sure to steer clear of The Taking, lol. :)

    Dean Koontz: Life Expectancy

Well, it was something completely new to me. I've never read a book like this one and personally, I love Dean Koontz style. So I guess that's why I enjoyed it. I agree about the twist though, seemed a little unneccesary but I liked it nonetheless.

    Dean Koontz: Life Expectancy

I just finished it a little while ago. Really fun read with a most interesting story-line. I loved the dynamic characters, it was an overall great book with a nice [couple of] twists. Has anyone else read it?

    Technothrillers?

Prey by Michael Crichton is a good technothriller. Also Lincoln Child did Utopia, never read it, but I hear a great techno-thriller.

When is a book too damaged?

Same thing happened to me, I just picked up. Read it. When I was done, I think I got rid of it. It was one of Bruce Coville's alien books.

    Best bookmark ever

It used to be a bookmark of Garfield, I had like 3. But they all... disappeared. Now the one I use most is just one with a timberwolf on it.

Saw? Ok, you'll definitely like "Intensity" by Dean Koontz. Check it out.

Where Can I Submit My Writing?

In all respect to this community, I love it, but there are barely any members that actually post. There are a selective maybe 10 members that are regulars. I'd prefer a site that's dedicated solely to writing-- not a forum. Thanks though.
