I really don't know whether or not to like Moore because a lot of what he says does seem to be very one-sided. He seems to make sure you don't get to see the other view at all during his films, rather than showing both sides and offering his view only slightly, which would seem preferable to...
I really like Wilfred Owen's works, especially "Dulce et Decorum Est". It's not all that well known, so no-one else will do it, probably, and it's got some Latin in it. Teachers love Latin!
I recently had a dream that consisted of my finding a kitten. I held the kitten in the palm of my hand (it was very small) and because I had no milk to give it, it bit me and drank my blood instead.
I even woke up feeling pin-prickly in my hand. My bet is that I cut off circulation in the...
I thought it was pretty much perfect. It ended the trilogy well, and if they make another movie, they shall all go to hell for ruining that. The beginning grabbed one's attention nicely with the chilling singing and the child being hanged, and then the rest of the movie just kept that...
Odd. I wear mine on my right wrist most of the time.
Mine's digital and is awful. I had a pretty nice one before this one, but it got broken. That one lit up if I told it to, so it could tell me what time it was even if it was dark. This one doesn't do that. Instead, its alarm is broken...
Granted: Except, it turns out you yourself are evil, so the wish turning out "good" pretty much destroys you.
I wish my character in an mmorpg were level "Kill Everyone".
Well...okay.
Granted: But this includes the humidity inside of you, so you turn into a little raisin.
I wish my interviewer would call me and give me the job I tried for today.
You gave me a Barbie Dream House?! You're so kind! Do you realize I've never, ever had a doll house?
You're my new favourite person.
And GreenKnight: Have some fish, but they're all dead, and inedible.
Oh, I like this one a lot more than the others you've posted. This is extremely well-written for the word-count-limitations. The ending is terrific, the build up is done quite well, and the effect is perfect.
Or, as JohnB said: Nice.
I really don't know what to say about this other than the fact that I look for one major thing when I read something: Does it leave an impact on me? This one did. It left me all thoughtful and inspired and suchlike. Yay!
I really love your description, by the way.
You really need to work on giving some depth to your writing. I've read over the few pieces you've showcased, and none of them have any real substance. I had to read them twice to understand what happened because it happened too quickly and none of the characters were really reacting to any of...
I'm sort of torn on this one. Considering what happened at VA tech, the kid should have known better than to write something like that. Doing so was either pure stupidity or begging for negative attention. But, at the same time, if he was told not to censor his work, he shouldn't have been...
I'm still in school and I have a binder with dividers in it which I've had for about two years now. I write down all the interesting quotes on those. ^_^
