When they were released, the adverts had spooky things going on then.... 'You have now entered the Twiglet Zone'
Ah the memories...
Sorry for taking the post off topic
If you want a fantasy to rival LOTR:
Wolfe's book of the new sun - Takes some getting used to the way he writes though, and some people find that the book doesn't really shine through until the reread. One of those that's a blend of fantasy and science fiction, with dips into other genres...
lol
It's always the simple things that trip you up
-You forgot to pay your electricity bill, so that massive laser of yours won't work
-What's the point in taking over the world if you can't have a little fun whilst doing so? From experience I can tell you that all that planning gets a...
one station I'm enjoying listening to at the mo is bbc7 (digital radio/digital TV/web: http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbc7/index.shtml?focuswin )
By UK times, during the week they've got science fiction at 6pm- 6.30 (repeated at midnight- they've done Hitchikers guide, Day of the Triffids, Blakes7...
I know it's not fully related, but I've just found all 15 issues of the classic 'Max:Thirteenth floor' stories (from Scream, then Eagle) online, along with a load of other stuff from scream

Well, people say you can't learn anything from TV/film- let's prove 'em wrong ;) So what have you learnt from giving your bottom a rest?
Let's see-
From Star Trek, Never wear a red shirt
From the A-team- it's easy to construct a tank aout of stuff...
I'm alright with the reprints in the Meg as I grew up with the Eagle rather than 2000AD, so I'm discovering a lot of these stories for the 1st time.
What's the current Bloodlines story (running through the weekly) like? I've heard varying things- from "It's brilliant", to "It's a bit too much...
Bit late, but anyway...
Have gotten into 2000AD recently- well the monthly megazine (mainly for the Charley's War reprints if I'm brutally honest).
As for 2000AD stories
Strontium Dog - the stuff in 'Portrait of a Mutant' is pretty good, as are the recent Big Finish audio productions...
Been away dor a while but...
Unfair medical question:
Hospital environment
A person under your care is under ECG monitoring (EKG in the States). There's noone else around. The ECG suddenly shows ventricular tachycardia. What is the first thing you should do?
(hopefully the medical jargon...
I'd like to third the recommendation for the 2 books of the hyperion cantos (You can't really read book 1 on it's own as there's no sense of 'closure' at the end of the 1st book)
Ah another reader.
Within the 'construct' of sandman, everone likes different stories. What's you favourite story within the 2 trades you've read so far?
depends who's after the book. Sigs can increase or DECREASE the value of your comic- after all, anyone could have scrawled on your book.
The only books that are definitely worth more in price due to sigs are those accompanied by a certificate of authenticity or similar (eg CGC graded...
Ultimate Spiderman started as a monthly title a few years ago (it's on issue 51 or 52 at the mo). Marvel's ultimate universe is an attempt to rejuvinate their heroes, stripping them of their continuity and making them accessible to a new generation (especially at a time when the movies are...
I read this about a month ago and loved it. Forget the atrocious movie and have a read of the comic.
The dialogue and art's full of references to classic literature- HG Wells, Dickens, Poe, RL Stephenson, Doyle etc. The beauty of the thing is that not 'getting' the references won't spoil the...
