Devil's Advocate, pot stirrer, troll, or simply just seeking a discussion with a group of people I've repeatedly referred to as the best reasons for still coming to TBF/BAR...whatever you wish to call it is fine with me. I used the words "possibly" and "insinuate". I know that nobody in this...

Nope. Not one bit. I have two children and I am a published author of a children's picture book, so I have read plenty of books for children, but I have not read any of the HP series. I just don't feel the need to call someone "childish" for reading, and enjoying the HP books, or any other...

Shade, do you not see comments like this as possibly being a bit insulting? What is the possible insinuation here?

Sure. Why not? I see nothing wrong with people reading what they like to read. It's called entertainment for some people. I know that concept is hard to understand sometimes. I certainly don't see a need to jump up and down, and scream about what a horrible choice they've made, and then go...

Shade my friend, I'd never assume your silence meant you were agreeing with me. :) I think we've known each other long enough now that something of that nature isn't bound to happen. Wow. You had to read a book 4 times before you could "really start getting something out of it"? I...

My latest work - appearing monthly

It is a bit tricky to create a situation that can be started, and completed with very limited text, and 3 relatively simple pictures. A situation that relates to racing motorcycles, yet has to be relatively kid friendly, and hopefully humerous to both adult and child. It's a bit of a...

    Bible poll: fiction or nonfiction?

That's funny? God said I could do it, if I start believing in HER. :D

    What Do You Drive?

StillIlearn, The Jeep Liberty diesel appears to only get about 4 or 5 more miles per gallon than what you get right now from what I saw, and that's what the manufacturer claims. If you've done the math enough to know that you get 18.5mpg, and you are only stepping up by another...

How does a "great" piece of writing serve society if hardly anybody reads it? verses How "bad" can a book be if it engages, and encourages more reading in people that otherwise might not read at all?

Some of what Muggle and Graeco have posted reminds me of the discussion we had in this thread starting at about post #10 It's nice to see Shade is consistent. :D Not that I doubted that.

My latest work - appearing monthly

This past Tuesday, yep 06/06/06.... "The Little Motorcycle" comic strip made it's television debut on SpeedTV's weekly motorcycle show "2 Wheel Tuesday" During the discussion of the comic strip, the current, and 6 time National AMA Superbike champion, Mat Mladin, was given a copy of...

    Bible poll: fiction or nonfiction?

It is book related my bloody, cut-throat, face-carving, blow-your-brains-out friend. :D We can discuss the bible 'til the cows come home.

    Philosophy discussion

Well, considering we had this thread once: click me I'd say place the thread where you think it belongs, and let the mods move it where they think it needs to go if you put it in the "wrong" place. As long as political and religious discussions are held based on a specific book, and the...

The what is this quote referring to game?

You couldn't be more correct there my friend, as this usually happens so soon after birth that it's impossible to remember. I would guess, that in America most male procedures are done for cosmetic, non-religious reasons with the exception of those in the Jewish faith. So therefore, my guess was...

The what is this quote referring to game?

Libre, I really respect many things that you say, and I love to hear your opinions and such, but in this case I'd have to say you are so far off-base it's not really even funny. To compare the traditional male circumcision to what's being practiced on these females is really quite pathetic...

The what is this quote referring to game?

Well lets see. Shock of all shockers....Moto read The Vagina Monologues. :D But more recently, as I'm sure you can tell, I scan the bbc and cnn news sites daily. This topic was, one day, on the home page of the BBC news site. As a father of daughters it tore my heart out to think of what...

The what is this quote referring to game?

Tradition and blind faith in something that has been passed down for generations and generations without anybody questioning what is being done, and/or why? In many cases it's older females doing this to younger females.
