Isn't that exactly what's causing the problems?
Some get bashed for posting about a specific author, or book.
Some get bashed for posting in text-speak.
Some get bashed for using slang.
Some get bashed for being blunt, and harshly honest.
Some get bashed for spelling, and/or grammar...
Kenny,
I don't think there's anything wrong with a "welcome" pm except that I think the majority of new members won't read it, just like the majority don't read the Membership Agreement.
And, it would require that the Forum has some very active moderators to do the job, or it would...
Yeah, that's what's needed. More stickies. A longer Membership Agreement, and private messages sent to every new member. We need more rules. More regulations and stipulations. Haven't you read the fine print yet?
And all this will accomplish what?
The majority of people won't read it...
What I meant, simply, was that if TBF chooses to handle every administrative/moderation type issue behind the sceens, with pm's and emails only, hidden from the general membership, then they have to expect the same issues to crop up every 3 to 6 months or so.

This thread is titled David Blaine.
Stewart and Shade (no surprise) both made comments about how anybody who might find what he did entertaining should be ashamed of...
No, it's not a good point. Those things Shade stated are against the law, and quite obviously dispicable acts of violence. If you want to take a simple statement about creativity and imagination with regards to what David Blaine does, and somehow twist it into terrorism and child abuse so be it...
Anybody who pushes the bounderies of what's considered "normal" is doing something worthwhile. What he does is creative, imaginative, and original. All of those are very worthwhile.
Blaine pushes the limits of the imagination. He makes people think, wonder, dream, laugh, smile, and freak...
ohhh...something else my dog hates.
She really hates it when the rest of the world walks by the window in the front of my house. If there's another dog on a leash it makes things even worse. It's a really good thing there is glass in the windows or all hell would stand still as my dog would...
My dog hates it when you play tug-of-war with her using a piece of rope with knots in it, and during the mutual pulling you stick your feet up under her belly and kinda lift her backlegs off the ground. She growls and growls and showes her teeth....the hair standing at peak attention on her...
