Pet Hates. This is Room 101.

There are times when my dog decides to go scratching her own butt across someone elses lawn during our walks. She sits down in a very unlady-like position, hind legs splayed out at unnatural looking angles, front legs pulling her along, and a goofy combination look of relief and ecstacy. She...

    What Do You Drive?

I don't really "drive" this, as much as I ride it. You may all start eating your hearts out right about now...everybody but Marquis Rex that is...that Porsche 911 Twin Turbo sounds absolutely delicious. :D

Pet Hates. This is Room 101.

My dog hates when you tickle the little hairs between her toes when she's sleeping. Especially the hairs between the toes on her back feet. Quite a powerful kicking action she's got. The dog also hates when I roll up a dish towel and rat-tail her behind, or the wife's behind, or the kids...

Admit it - you fart - and you love it

    hi / forum introduction

Personally I think it’s a bit arrogant of you to register as a member of TBF (a forum for the discussion of books) for the sole purpose of advertising another book forum. There’s really nothing different about your forum from this one except the number of members. My first link, at your...

    hi / forum introduction

I'm sure sme would not complain if a bunch of us went to his little forum and left a few nice little posts like this one so that we can direct a few of his members to places like TBF and such? :D He wouldn't mind that would he? Nah....:D

    What's up with number 13?

    Revising or Rewriting?

Read it out loud to yourself, and if you can get another person to read it out loud to you, that is even better. Your ears will pick up awkward phrasing and passages much better than your eyes/mind will.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY mehastings

26 huh? It would require effort for me to remember what I was doing at 26. Happy B-Day girlie. Hope it's a blast. :D

Dan Brown: The Da Vinci Code

"The only bad press is no press" The very idea that anybody who spends copious amounts of time bashing the ever loving poop out of Dan Brown, and any of his books, is actually helping sell more of his books is enough to make me smile everytime I think about it. Can't wait to see the next...

Dan Brown: The Da Vinci Code

Dogmatix, you should read some of this thread to get a taste for what some here think. There are some very surprising ideas of what "good" is, and, what it should be. Amazingly enough, some feel that it would be better to have millions of people not read at all, rather than read TDVC...

What do you pay for gas?

Ask, and at least I can provide a link to a discussion :D

Dan Brown: The Da Vinci Code

Perhaps zen, you just haven't found the right forum yet? Please feel free to check these types of opinions at another forum and maybe you'll find a more entertaining place to play? Or maybe just one that's more your style? :D

Dan Brown: The Da Vinci Code

I don't care what some post about forum etiquette says... Here's what others have had to say about this book: http://forums.thebookforum.com/showthread.php?t=1209&highlight=vinci+code http://forums.thebookforum.com/showthread.php?t=6175&highlight=vinci+code I got this using the...

    Bookstore name

Try to find a copy of this book too. It's a quick read. That is, if you haven't read it already. :D A great story about a girl who opens her own bakery specializing in pies, and why she fails to be a success.

    Bookstore name

Not to be a dark cloud on the conversation, but is it possible the general Swedish book store has a small English section because the demand for English books is not that great? I would think many of these places keep pretty good records about what sells and what doesn't. What they get...
