M. T. Anderson is very good. I have't read all of his work but I loved Feed (dystopia book) and Thirsty (the sad coming-of-age story about a boy...whos' turning into a vampire--also has dystopian themes).
I got to used bookstores! I haven't been to one in a while, but I really like them. One day my friend and I decided to check out all the ones in town. One was about 70% Christian stuff and Christian Romance Novels (I had no idea such things existed). Another was very good, and has been in...
Thanks again for the welcomes, everyone! And ooh--a Materia Magica player? I've played a bit of that--but then EverQuest stole my soul and I've been battling with it and other MMORPGs to regain control of myself. It's fun!
I thought it was nice! I haven't watched any episodes in a while though--I may during break. It was actally one of the first animes I ever saw, so I never had anything to compare it to.
That's all right...my roomie thinks that archaeology is neat, but she's a computer science geek. It's pretty fun...a girl obsessed with ancient history and a girl obsessed with technology living under the same roof.
LoL--thanks! And that's just a rough guess...I may have more--but I haven't counted them in some time.
Everyone here seems so friendly! I think I'll really like it.
Exactly! So, I want to get out of here, soon...I'm thinkin' somewhere with mountains, trees, a nice place to do some hiking..... It'll happen one day. :)
I'd suggest Titan by John Varley. I've read that, and its sequal, Wizard --both very good. I have yet to read the third and final on in the series, which is called Demon .
But the characters are very good, and the plot is very interesting! I found someone's synopsis of it on amazon.com...
I realize no one has posted in this for over a month, but a book I thought was a bit disturbing (but very, very interesting) was The Story of the Eye by Georges Bataille. It's translated so the wording is kinda weird, but I liked it. And I actually got attached to the psycho characters near...
I haven't started it yet but I saw the movie and I loved it! Then again, maybe I just find it amusing that Colin Farrel only has 3 facial expressions....
Anyway, it was a very sweet movie and I'll probably be reading the book after I finish I'm Not Scared and The Persian Boy.
No...there's nothing nice, there isn't even *hills*--and most of the year it's hot and there's very little green...most plants are brown (including the grass).
Eh, I don't like it very much. I live in an area where there is literally *nothing* for at least 6 hours in all directions. No trees, no mountains, no real rivers, nothing.
My last trip to Barnes & Noble and I got (in no particular order):
And Then They Were Nuns by Susan J. Leonardi
Jennifer Government by Max Barry
Thirsty by M. T. Anderson
A Home at the End of the World by Michael Cunningham
Trickster's Choice by Tamora Pierce
Brave New World by...
