    What animal are you?

You are either a Otter or a Snake personality. But you may also be a Bat personality. I think I'm a bat.

    what we look like.

If I were a car I'd be my car, a VW Cabrio. No longer in production, wearing red, ready for a nice day of fun at anytime, impractical, small, and with a tendency to have weird quirks and breakdowns.

    marriage

This is the sort of issue that can really cause friction in a relationship because it can impact so many different aspects of your life. If she becomes more interested in religion and makes new friends who share that perspective, will they not approve of her relationship with a non-believer...

Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking

The quality of intuitive reason is very interesting to me, since as I get older I feel that I am not as quick at working out "logical" solutions (i.e. math) but am much more intuitive. Does anyone else feel that way?

    Poetry!

I was thinking about this today. I know a lot of people who read, but I'm the only person I know who really likes poetry. Not sure how I caught the poetry bug, but i wish I could infect other people. There's so many great poems I want to read to people!

    Vladimir Nabokov: Lolita

I read this one awhile back and thought I had a thread floating around here somewhere, but now can't find it. I enjoyed it, a memoir can do things that fiction can't sometimes. And now I really want to catch up on some of the classics they discussed and I missed.

    Valentines Day

I like holidays in general, but not this one. It's pretty worthless. If you love some one, don't wait for hallmark to tell them for you.

What actors do you think are any good?

Don't know what they showed in Mexico, but the European version has about half an hour more than the American version, and it makes it a completely different movie. I am incredibly impressed with Natalie Portman. I think she'll be an oscar shoo-in in a few years if she continues to pick her...

    Super Bowl

It's actually quite easy if you don't watch TV or read the Sports section of the paper. You know it's coming sometime soon from all the cross-merchandising, but they all just assume you already know the date. I actually caught the game this year, just because a friend had a get together at...

    Amazon Prime

I am so screwed. This is just way too tempting. I may never leave the house again. Except that they don't have groceries or liquor yet.

    Recently Purchased/Borrowed

I was terribly bad at half price books today. I went in to see if they had any Pablo Neruda, and the poetry was all so nice and cheap. And then I took a quick run thru Fantasy, and found a few interesting things there too. So, $70 and 2 bags later, my TBR pile has doubled again. Found a...

    Inherited Books

My brother inherited my dad's Mark Twain set, so I had to go buy my own. But mine's more complete, even if it doesn't have the history. I did manage to nab the complete works of Saki. If you want an interesting collection of short stories, look into it.

    What country are you?

You're Lebanon! Your room's a mess. Your house is a mess. Heck, your life is a mess. It all used to be really beautiful, and someone even compared you to Paris once, but that's all been replaced with heartache and struggle. You're small, have been influenced by outsiders for too long, and...

    What book are you?

You're Adventures of Huckleberry Finn! by Mark Twain With an affinity for floating down the river, you see things in black and white. The world is strange and new to you and the more you learn about it, the less it makes sense. You probably speak with an accent and others have a hard time...

    Strangest novel

House of Leaves was about the strangest I've encountered. But maybe it's just in my mind b/c I just finished it.

    Dictionary ?

I usually don't come across to many words I don't know, but House of Leaves was packed full. I had the dictionary handy for the entire way thru, which was annoying since then the book wasn't very portable if I had to carry a dictionary, too.

    Book first?

I'm generally a book first kind of girl, but on crime/thrillers, I tend to just skip straight to the movie.
