i have a smallish room filled floor to ceiling.. the books are mostly in bookcases that line the walls, the shelves of which are mostly all double stacked, with more books stacked on top, and even more books stacked on top of each other, spines facing outward as if they were on a shelf, stacked...
i think book stores are mostly dead here in Australia. 'brick and mortar' whether a chain label or independent, are full of books that are vastly overpriced, due in part at least to the short sightedness of the federal government, who think they have a mandate to 'protect' Australian...
facebook not only killed blogging, killed social forums, it's killed many a themed forum like this one..... i must be a dinosaur, i mourn them all, and i have been no where near facebook in the years it has been leeching users from the internet.
i get mine when i find a new book in a shop, and decide i have to buy it.. :D this goes for any addition to a series or a brand new one, i am especially happy if i manage to find a complete series i haven't heard of before.
a few more to look at perhaps.. have you read any PD James, or Elizabeth George? would you like medieval mysteries? Susanna Gregory's Matthew Bartholomew series is one of my favourites.. Bernard Knight's Crowner John series.. of course, i can't not mention Ellis Peters' Cadfael. Barbara...

one point i'd make.. listen to as many of the other people as you can, and try to make sure your question or comment is different... i remember meeting CJ Cherryh at a booksigning event, she looked so bored behind her polite smile and glazed eyes as she talked to fan upon fan about her...
i am known for being 'blunt' - some have a different word for this trait of mine.. (grin) so no friend or family member is too surprised when i am honest with them on issues others might skirt around..
life is too short.........
oh yes! signed and all.. it must be a lovely book... congrats! :)
i felt like this when i received a first edition of Tolkein's Letters, it's not as fancy as your book sounds, but the feeling i have for it would be similar..
