surely a mixed bag of reviews there.. i have read others, and it is the same.. maybe it made the best seller list for a while with all her fans wanting to at least give it a go.. from what i have read so far in terms of reviews, and Anne Rice interviews, she certainly has given her all...
hello Peronel.. good to see another aussie.. :)
but i must keep my political idea to myself it seems, i have seen elsewhere it is not encouraged here. sorry for that!
that has to be some sort of recommendation! :) thankyou...
and luckily there are reading guides and summaries etc available on the net.. this was school reading for some i take it?
i -love- Loreena McKennitt, i think i have every cd of hers.. she is even better live if that's possible! i was lucky enough to get a ticket to see her when she was playing in a small theatre in Sydney quite some years ago now, and i swear, the hair on the back of my head quivered listening...

just a few of my favourites:
Beowolf - with Christopher Lambert
The Crow - the original Crow that is, with Brandon Lee
Dune - the original release, altho i don't mind the 3 hour version too
Hidalgo
Queen of the Damned
the Blade trilogy - yes, all three....
Mean Guns
Galaxy Quest...
good to see people have enjoyed the Black Magician trilogy, i have the three books sitting on my unread stack.. i did have a quick preview, read the first few pages, and figured i would like it..
too many books, not near enough time.... :D
anyone read any books by Willa Cather? i haven't. i have read up on a website or two, and i have downloaded some books of hers from Project Gutenberg, there were 7 of them there...
why i am asking: this author's name has come up in relation to a book club style discussion, and i need...
a sequel! after all this time.. i read this years ago, the bookshop guy recommended it to me one week when there were no new scifi or fantasy books available.. i remember really enjoying it.. it's a book i consider re-reading very so often, but alas.. there's always a new book to read...
