    How quickly do you read?

I read considerably faster than most people, I'm proud to say. Not that I'm bragging - I make up for it by being pants at math :o

    A Porcupine Named Fluffy

Hey don't knock 'em, those little nutters can be nasty. They were bred as guard dogs originally, don't forget.

Books you'd never let your kids read....

Books you wouldn't let your kids read? Hehe. When I was in 6th grade my mom bought me a stack of pretty graphic romance novels without realizing it. They had mermaids and other fantasy creatures on the covers, and she didn't think to skim the contents beyond the short, rather uninformative...

Then why did her powers return after he appeared to have accepted her? Its horrid and insulting. She doesn't seem to know or understand him at all. Dumbledore's not dead an hour and Remus is grieving. Instead of a kind word or a supportive embrace, she grabs him by his shirt front and shakes...

Rich Dad, Poor Dad By Robert Kiyosaki

I had to read it for career class. It was... well, a self-help book. I gladly put it down and never picked it up again.

    First book you ever read?

The Boxcar Children series were the first real chapter books I read. In fact, The Case of the Purple Pool was the first chapter book I read cover to cover in one sitting. I was so proud... :o

Because of what that side was. Tonks goes from a self-assured, competent woman in OotP, to a whining, petulent child in HBP. And why? Because her crush doesn't wuv her! Oh boo hoo, I think I'll go squib myself because I can't handle rejection from a man. And I refuse to believe that, if she...

*weep* Forced to read boring school approved books...

I hated Summer of my German Soldier. I had to read it in 6th grade and found it unbearable.

Oscar Wilde: The Picture Of Dorian Gray

A good book. A little thick to get into, but worth it if you slog through the first few chapters. Subtext like whoa ;)

Aww, I don't like any of those candies... woo! I guess I'm too crazy to diagnose!

    Book Withdrawal

That's true. My brother got mad at me at dinner tonight for trying to discuss Son of a Witch with him [ he stole and read my copy without asking. He owes me a conversation :p ]

Personally, I did not like HBP in the least. The writing felt shallow, the characters OOC and it really, really made me hate Tonks.

    Gregory Maguire: Wicked

I just finished Son of a Witch the other day and I'm eager to discuss this book and its prequel with anyone else who's also picked them up. Me, I really enjoyed it :)

    Recommendations for a Fantasy "Newb"

Borders Publishing resently put out the whole OZ series in three hardback volumes. They're really nice [ although the map included in the front is actually backwards! oops xD ]
