see, after reading the Alchemist I have been reluctant to read more by him - although not sure why. I think it was more the story and not his writing style that I disliked, so I am being very prejudiced in my views. If you do read anymore, please let us know what it's like so I can perhaps...
Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas to everyone.
I hope Santa brought you all many books that you want to read?
I am now in possession of a ten book collection of PG Wodehouse...oooh. Woot!

I don't believe I mentioned Lord of the Rings above, and I am not dissing the books as much as the films. The books were rather enjoyable at a younger age but somehow lost their appeal when real life set in.
I shan't continue this here so please post your inevitable reply in a relevant...
Just curious as you may notice a few similarities between it and the Silmarillion. (I havne't read all of it either so can't give a too informed opinion on it) :)

Hmm, bored of the rings, but at least the book is better than the film
NA - not read yet, but can't wait until I do.
Molesworth - never read.
Silmarillion - have you read Milton's Paradise Lost?

We also have to question why Lord of the Rings and His Dark Materials were classed as one book instead of 3 (yes, I know LotR is six books) and Harry Potter was put in separately as 4 books? Very odd.
I was quite surprised with His Dark Materials, as they are in book form only. yes, they...
I find it exceptional that books such as P&P and Great Ex can stand the test of time and still appear in charts so long after they were written. Imagine writing a novel in the 19th Century and then thinking it would be in a list of 100 favourites over a century later - wow.
Of course, only...
Martin, by 'write' do you mean rather than by carving the scripts into a bar of soap or a soft piece of wood/neighbourhood pet?
Or were you meaning instead of dictating onto a recording medium? :D

The library ties in with amazon.co.uk so that people who like your review have the option to purchase the title. Amazon have the book in the 'crime, thrillers & mystery' category (as well as fiction) so it really just ties into that.
This is my estimation and I'll let Darren fill any gaps...
The only place I can think of just now is ebay.com.
Or perhaps if you have any specialist comic stores in your area who may acquire them in bulk to sell on separately?

Hello there, and welcome to the forum.
I look forward to sampling your scripts in the 'writers showcase' if and when you are ready to share.
Cheers

alas, that link was a hotmail session ended link coming from your inbox - not the actual action site link. The product name and auction site should be enough to find it if you have those?

I'm 5'8" and found the seats adequately comfortable and the film adequately boring to sleep peacefully.
I bought the first one on DVD for the Bookends and got both that and the second one for the housemate (both extended editions with bookends (1) and statue of Gollum (2) - the second one...
Contains spoliers (although I'm sure you all know the story by now) and questions.
As always I love Dickens and how he can bring in such a strong value of society into his novels, and A Christmas Carol is no exception with Scrooge sparing no sympathy for the poor and commenting that he...
I think all of my faourite novels, but one, have tragedy in them to some extent. Three of my favourite books include The God of Small Things (which has Tragedy), Great Expectations (yip - tragedy here too) and Cold Comfort Farm (ooh - none here really).
Some of the best written novels I...
