I agree, but for fangirls like me...the Joker was finally as scary as he was supposed to be. The comicbook Joker wasn't a mobster like in previous movies; he was seriously evil and without motive. I loved it. It is unfortunate Ledger won't be able to play him again.
I agree development of Dent's character was important. Ledger's Joker was amazing, and yes his death played a role, but people were praising him before his death, and he lived up to it.

I think we are in need of Orson Wells' "War of the Worlds." I mean if we are all living in fear of end days why hasn't some genuis come out with a new one? With people buying to ideas like a war on terror clearly, at least in America, people love to be terified.
I have been greatly enjoying the one you told me about spying in a coffee shop and writing everything you hear down. But I imagine it works better for short stories. Try objects and go from there...like your low-tops instead of situations. I would work with items most people don't look at...
