Hello Chris,
Shade manages to express himself very well, in every single one of his posts. Perhaps you're just not reading them right ;)
As for me - let me know what's puzzling you and I'll be happy to clarify.
I started this thread because I was curious about the new author, why? Because...
Shade, I think it's news simply because it's Bond and the new film is out soon. Oh and the last book was about 10 years ago (I think).
And yes you're right the books were hardly 'quality' literature but perhaps their popularity has something to do with the culture/environment of the time...
I don't usually plan, just whatever takes my fancy - although at the moment I am trying to hunt down (rather fruitlessly thus far) a film called If Footmen Tire you What will Horses do?
A James Bond villain or a Batman villain?
spikeyli take a deep breath...:D
Your cousin sounds just like someone I know. No matter how annoying you may find it, just let it slide off your back - at the end of the day you are working hard for yourself and for your family and that's all that matters. If she chooses not to then that is...
No.
July is coming to an end and before we know it Christmas will be here bringing along with it New Years....so have you been keeping this years new years resolutions?

Hello ja9,
Well if you're bookshopping in London then you have to visit HERE, it's a beautiful shop.
Foyles in Soho is good too - I'm sure google will throw up their website.
As for antiquarian books (expensive hobby!) then I think Russell Books is a good shop, there is another one I...
Enya,
Jude left me shocked, I don't think I read anything else for at least a week afterwards. All of his novels have a strong undercurrent of fatalism, but in Jude the feeling was in almost every page.
I've read quite a few of his novels and some of his poetry. I agree Pink shadow, that his imagery is amazing and the language beautiful. Depressing though.
Good job I have Benicio Del Toro & er..Steve Buscemi(:o ) in reserve then.
Today I did not trip up whilst wearing a short skirt and stupid high heels, right in front of a pack of builders. The eggs in my shopping bags did not break and my French baguette did not get lodged under a badly...
Veggie,
Like I said, I'm glad you're feeling better now.:)
This sounds more like a holiday than a hospital stay....And I'll take your word for it on the Chinese checkers - of course you let them win ;).
As for whats been happening here, nothing much just some more of the mudfights and...
steffee,

You can't just stop when it gets to the good bit, please explain in detail what these ideas are...we the forum have a right to know because well because i'm nosy.
