    Library speed dating

Funniest post I've read in days. Oh and Mr Impressive Bookmark (nudge nudge wink wink - I'm sorry it's like a blood disease I just cannot let any opportunity to say that pass), I know I said that we didn't know enough about you, and the brown rice was one thing, but now you're just taking it...

    The Legalization of Marijuana?

Your points are fair MC, but somedays it would sure come in handy. Seriously though, would it be such a bad thing if it were legal and thereby regulated? Legalising it would reduce a number of connected crimes and could perhaps help stop people from buying the more serious stuff out there. Oh...

How Many Books Do You Read in a Year (approx.)?

I don't usually get to sleep before 3am, so I always have the time. In fact I should be able to read at least that amount every year. Have just been too lazy for the last couple of years.

Nice story, thanks for sharing. Although, the next time you're deciding whether or not to post something similar, ask yourself one question : What would the Hulk do?

    James Joyce

Heteronym, I had a slightly different impression of Ulysses. I'd made it through Finnegan's Wake - just about (taking many naps and trashy book breaks along the way), and I figured that's it, I'm done with Joyce. Then, a member here recommended Ulysses and she made it sound very...

How Many Books Do You Read in a Year (approx.)?

It varies year to year. This year I've made it to about 80. I think the most I've read was in 2003 - 182.

Dave Eggers: What Is The What?

A couple years back I read 'A Heart Breaking Work of Staggering Genius' by Dave Eggers - it was a memoir recalling how he had to take care of his young brother after the death of their parents. I found it unputdownable and incredible - it was pretty clear though that it was a mix of true events...

    Apocalypto

Mel Gibson's Apocalypto has opened at number one in the US box office. Anyone seen it yet or going to see it? Does Gibson's actions (see HERE ) in the past affect your decision to watch the film?

    November Reads 2006

Thanks SFG, it sounds very interesting, I'll see if i can get a hold of it. I'm reading The River of Doubt: Theodore Roosevelt's Darkest Journey by Candice Millard and it is very very good. I think you'd love it - it focuses on Rossevelt's journey down the River of Doubt (a tributary of the...
