I think there is an unwritten rule here in Norway, that says a guy from my home country can't sit next to me in a bus. I haven't figured that out quite yet, but I've noticed that if there's no seat vacant in the bus, train etc., but the one next to me, if the guy has the same cultural background...

How long before you give up on a book??

Same here. I can't leave a book unfinished. If it's boring, I'll leave it, but after a few years I'll try it again and then again and again.. till I've finished it. I can't start a book and just leave it, without finishing it. In my little world that's a crime. Catherine Cookson's book...

    Haruki Murakami

starchild, I liked a few things about this book, not everything was bad, for instance some of the characters, and the chapter you mentioned and Midori's and Watanabe's conversations and so on, I found it all to be quite interesting, and pleasent to read. As a whole I don't feel the same way...

    Haruki Murakami

:) I think I understand what you mean, but I was thinking about the whole relationship between Naoko and him, because what they had was more than the "grassy area experience". I felt Watanabe was passive on the night walks, I felt Reiko was more dominant and it was more about her, than them...

    Recently Purchased/Borrowed

Rebecca by Daphne Du Maurier. Went to buy Anna Karenina, but they didn't have the whole story in just ONE book. So I didn't buy it, I don't want seperate Anna Karenina's in several volumes.

    Haruki Murakami

I'm really truly sorry jay, maybe I shouldn't have been so negative. I finished reading this book, because I always do so, no matter how bad a book might be. I liked Watanabe's room-mate, he was a lot of fun, and Nagasawa was a well drawn character. At first I liked Midori, that she said what...

    Haruki Murakami

I just finished reading "Norwegian Wood", and sorry all Murakami fans, but I really didn't get what's so spectacular about this book. I felt the book was a little immature... too much blahblahblah going on. I am dissapointed!!! Maybe I missed the point, but I really don't think I did. Why...
