The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich

Sneezy, Thank you for the suggestion. I have no doubt it would be an overwhelming experience which, as things stand, I doubt I shall ever be able to fulfill. However, the Holocaust and WWII museums appearing here and there in various countries may possibly spread the access more broadly and...

The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich

And thank you for your answers to my afterthought question. I don't think I'll bother you again on this thread (but who knows?). I'll just leave a link to 10 pages of citations which will clarify the topic that was on my mind, since I see I was not as clear as I should have been...

The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich

Thank you sincerely, Sparky. I truly appreciate the kind words. :)

The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich

Only in your fondest dreams, Sparky.

The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich

This perhaps sounds like the winding down of the discussion, and a period of relative calm in the thread. So, at the risk of sounding like a monomaniac, I have a question: Just how do you, or any of you, factor considerations of the Holocaust into your ideas of "interesting" alternative...

The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich

I think my posts on this thread, if actually read, are clear and explicit enough to explain my remarks and my attitudes. I see no reason for further commentary here by me.

The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich

Well, Sparky, thank you for your incredibly helpful suggestion. I do hope you achieve your objective in the discussion. My posts upthread with DATo should provide insight for you regarding my reaction to the turn this discussion has taken.

The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich

Well then, I apologize for thinking you were a troll. I see now that you actually believe what you say. So, I hope you do not find it personally insulting if I say that your opinions are indescribably offensive to me. That is accurately my opinion, with no insult intended.

The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich

/.... 97, 98, 99, 100/ I can't believe my eyes either, but it sounds to me like a troll at work. So, no comment.

The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich

I guess I can only say that I share your hope, but not your optimism.

    The Hunger Games

Roxbrough, why not tell us what you really think? :D

The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich

Which is exactly why I am so hard over in my firm and unyielding opposition to any use of words of respect like "genius" or "leader" or other words to ameliorate the absolute sinister evil that he brought to the world, including the destruction of his own country and the attempted eradication...

    May 2014: Vote!

Still some time. Quite a few alternatives, so I'll be voting later when I see how the vote is shaping up. Have patience. :)

Well, democracy is all about free choice. Will you be reading the winner?

Helene Hanff: 84 Charing Cross Road

Excellent review, DATo. IT should be called a "modern classic!" It will enrich the life of anyone who reads it, and I think it will have a long life because of that.

The Rise And Fall Of The Third Reich

No way? I would say "yes, way." Whether he was puppet or leader of the German populace is certainly open to discussion and evaluation in the light of historical records. It seems to me you assume far too much in arriving at your conclusions.

    The Bible

Ah, Swami says. Actually I had read the whole thread, and thought my response was appropriate since it was Meadows post that was quoted with the reply. But no big deal if you think you know what I was thinking. If you can follow that, now try divining the threads I don't read at all. :D

    The Bible

Ah! I clicked on a thread called The Bible and took that to be your referent. My goof! Sorry. Well then, among men? Still sounds like poetic hyperbole to me and at variance with its total impact on Western Civilization. As third possibility -- relating to forum discussions and Meadow's...

    The Bible

Not quite, when I read it.
