    Stephen King: Cell

Okay I just finished Cell, and it was good. I found it to be more of a Page-Turner King rather than some of the Art he's created in other books. It really wasnt that scary either.. I mean, there were lots of zombies, but there weren't any scenes that stand out like there are in many of his...

    Online book lists

I use dreamweaver and make myself a list in Html format. I would imagine you could make a list in Word though. Just make a table with the date you finished reading the book, author, title, page count.. anything you're interested in. You can save it as an html file and even make it a web page.

Really - and I mean truly - scary Books

I loved the Library Policeman. A spooky library and a very scary librarian with No Tolerance on late books. How much better can it get?

Stephen King: The Dark Tower 1: The Gunslinger

I really liked The Gunslinger, but I'll admit it's not the greatest book of the series. I wasn't expecting great things from The Drawing of the Three when I first started reading it, but all of a sudden all these amazing things started happening and I quickly became a Dark Tower junkie.

Who is the best short story writer?

Annie Proulx is really good at writing short stories. I haven't read her novel, but it won a pulitzer so it must be good.

    top ten books for highschoolers?

I think high school students should and do read mostly regular adult books. As far as children's books at my high school Harry Potter is of course popular, as are some other children's series (redwall, golden compass, series of unfortunate events). Most high schoolers prefer more mature books...

Pick my next few reads in order! :)

I hear a lot about the Redwall Series. I've never read anything in it just because I don't know where to start.. If I were to choose for myself I'd read Memoirs of a Geisha.

Post-Apocalyptic! End of the World books

The world almost ends in two of Stephen King's novels: The Stand and Cell

    Stephen King: Cell

I just started reading this, and am only 50something pages in.. So far I'm like whoa.. so much is going on.. I'm sure it'll get better though. Don't tell me what happens ;)!

    Recommendations for Historical Type Thrillers?

I haven't read it yet, but surely The Historian by Elizabeth Kostova would appeal to what you're looking for.

Turning your book passion into an occupation

I work at a public library and it's fun. It's nice to see so many different books, and the easy ability to recheck and delete fines ;) I doubt it's a job that would pay the bills though.

So what did you all read in January?

Oh wow.. It's amazing how many of you can read so much! I'm jealous.. really jealous.. As for me I only read one book for the month of January. It was the 5th Harry Potter, Order of the Phoenix. Books I'm going to hopefully read and finish for February are: Lois Lowry - Gathering...

Reading multiple books at a time

Sometimes I like to read a classic-type book and a modern book at once. I usually read 1-3 chapters from the Classic a day and then however much I can from the modern. It works nicely, I think.

Can anyone please suggest a book to read?

Get him the alphabet according to Sue Grafton: A - S or whatever her latest letter is. I would switch the genre up a lot though, because even someone in jail can't take 50 back-to-back Mysteries.

The books I'm reading for year 12...have you guys read them?

I read the Great Gatsby as a junior and HS and actually liked it. You'll be able to get through it easily - and don't forget cliff notes if you don't understand anything :)

Hung: Exploring The Black Sexual Myth

I haven't read it, but I'm interested in what he has to say. My guess is that he confirms the fact that black men are just naturally blessed with an incredibly large penis.

    Book Buying Freeze

I haven't been buying as much now I work at the library, but it's still hard to leave a book store empty handed.
