I'm no Ordinary Girl - by Anika Paris. I can't figure out why she isn't popular, she's great. This song was on the Bounce soundtrack. Crap movie, great soundtrack.
Narnia's on my list for a re-read. I really like Roald Dahl's works. And am very impress with Phillip Pullman's Golden Compass, although I didn't get to read it as a kiddo.
I have seen a number of forums of generally polite discussion become very rude over politics. There's a reason that there's that old saying about not discussing politics and religion. Even nice, adult people seem unable to be civil when discussing them. So, no, let's keep it book related...
Just finished this, I've been taking it slow as I didn't want it to end. I was impressed from start to finish, completely original, the footnotes were a hoot, and she managed to keep the narrator's tone completely Jane Austen, with perhaps a little more heart. Want to recommend it to everyone...
This thread inspired me, I had to watch the Holy Grail last night. And it was STILL FUNNY! :) I'm particularly fond of Sir Robin's Minstrels.
Wolf was wondering tho, do the animated bits add to the movie, or are the just annoying. Thoughts?
I'll be giving lots of books for christmas - I'm sort of the person in charge for keeping most of the family in books. Going to try to resist getting more for me though, my TBR pile is HUGE.
Of course, if some person were to shop for a few off of my Amazon wish list, that would be OK . . . :)
I saw Sylvia and enjoyed it; it also inspired me to finally finish Ted Hughes's Birthday Letters.
I suppose you could say the 2 films about Hunter S. Thompson would qualify: Where the Buffalo Roam and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.
