E.R. Eddison - Mistress of Mistresses E.R. Eddison - The Worm Ouroboros the language might take some getting used to. Jack Vance - Tales Of The Dying Earth. it isn't medieval (more wizards and alternate dimensions, demons etc) but it's a fun read. Cugel is a great character and really...

    Books/Authors you hate

I didn't say it was. Psychologically though there are differences and since I'm really only interested in my mind and I don't profess to understand females I will usually select the male author if I had to choose between them. Besides the genres I'm interested in I would say are dominated (in...

    nietzsche

I don't know if it is proven that he had syphilis but that's what I've read and he definitely suffered a complete mental breakdown. I think he visited a brothel as a student and that's where he might have got it. you don't want to see what syphilis can do to your face.

    nietzsche

he had syphilis and he broke down towards the end of his life. I think he was a mad tortured genius and I love him like a father.

    nietzsche

I thought Nietzsche was great when I was 18/19. I read his books obsessively. My favourites were Human, All Too Human and Thus Spoke Zarathustra. I think he's brilliant but dangerous. And he was insane.

    Too many pages?

I couldn't continue The Chronicles of Amber by Roger Zelazny because the characters were lifeless and unlikable, the dialogue was inane and I was only 100 pages in.
