Since this book was the one nominated for December discussion and there is already an ongoing thread, I thought we could all just use this thread to discuss the book :D
Novembers book discussion is The Forever War by Joe Haldeman :)
Private William Mandella is a hero in spite of himself--a reluctant conscript drafted into an elite military unit, and propelled through space and time to fight in a distant thousand-year conflict. He never wanted to go to war...
I've started the voting poll for next months book discussion.
The three highest voted books have been included.
Not included Weaverworld because people wanted that for next month :)

Been to the Library today and picked up three books :)
I'm going to read Fools Errant by Mathew Hughes, no idea what his books are like as I've not heard of him before.
Hi All :)
Hope no one minds, but I looking for readers who love reading fantasy and dark fantasy.
I've recently found a new home for the group, it's much more user friendly :D
The link is in my signature below.
I'd love to see avid readers join us. Also got two authors posting...
Please could I remind members that the nominations for this forum book discussion must be either fantasy/sci-fi or dark fantasy or dark sci-fi
Nothing else. Some of these nominations are adventure genre and mystery :o
We have a few votes coming through so I will try and collate them :)
Weaverworld by Clive Barker - 3 votes (though those votes would prefer it for December.
Eaters of the Dead - Michael Chricton - 2 votes
King Rat by China Mieville - 1 vote
The Weavers of Saramyr by Chris Wooding -...
It's that time again. Need nominations for next months book discussion :)
I nominate
King Rat by China Mieville
The Weavers of Saramyr by Chris Wooding
I'm making an effort to put some books in the Fantasy section of the library. There are so many books to choose from, it would be nice to let readers know about them :)
Of course then I'll try and get around to the reviews :D
I've just read a good standalone by Paul Kearney - Riding the Unicorn. Don't be deceived by the title into thinking it's a soft read :) This is a good, gritty book, and I think a lot of people would enjoy it :D
