If you didn't like the fifth, why torture yourself with the sixth and seventh? Just read the synopsis of the sixth on one of a bazillion websites, then do the same for Deathly Hallows. I liked OotP, so I can't tell you if you should read HBP.
Or wait for the movie.
I haven't read any pirate novels ( :( I'm suddenly feeling very deprived). Will have to check some of these out.
I did like the character Reepicheep in the Chronicles of Narnia series. A swashbuckling mouse, what's not to love!
Strangely enough, I read Black House before I started The Talisman (I didn't realise it was a sequel). I love BH, it was everything I love about King with that little extra thrown in courtesy of Straub. Of course I didn't understand the references to the first book. but I don't feel it matters...
Fall Out Boy's new cd, Infinity on High, as well as Aqualung, Snow Patrol, and The Butterfly Effect.
Mama-sama, I've got Wincing the Night Away, and I'm not sure if I like it yet. Much the same as their other stuff, really. I'll have to have a couple more listens, though.
I agree with Catalyst, communication is key. I don't have children myself, so I feel woefully unqualified to make any point here, but I'm gonna do it anyway.
Children don't have the language tools that we do, so they express themselves through their behaviour. If they are frustrated, they might...
I agree, seasons two and three were lacklustre, but the show has really picked up from the fourth up to the sixth season. Lex is truly becoming a badass now (just like we want him to:) ), and Clark isn;t as annoying as he used to be. Now if only Lana would die....
If texts count, I'm reading Psychological Testing and Assessment by Cohen and Swerdlik, and Current Psychotherapies by a few people.
And I'm always re-reading A Short History of Nearly Everything.
Did a quick search on Amazon for 'wrong decisions', narrowed to history. Here's all 1,835 results.
I hope someone else can be of more help, this sounds like a really interesting read!
Unlike Angerball, all I do is watch TV, so I've worked very hard at narrowing it down to my top ten of all time:
(in no particular order)
1. Arrested Development (sob!)
2. The Simpsons seasons 1 - 9
3. Lost
4. Seinfeld
5. Superted
6. The Office (BBC)
7. Black Books
8. Spaced
9. Gumby
10...
I have not read any Dostoyevsky (which is always capitalised; it is a name), but there are a few stories that have affected me n some deep level. Some of them:
- the scenes following Gandalf's "death" in LOTR (I am not spoiler tagging that. If anyone hasn't read it by now, they deserve to have...
NB: Spoilers ahead. I can't be bothered with multiple spoiler tags, so skip this if you haven't read it.
I was surprised that no-one had mentioned the Bev factor as well. Although, I didn't mention it either, so there you go.
As for the turtle (or, The Turtle) I always got the impression that...
Honeydevil, I wouldn't bother with Pandora. Vesper, you have to read The Vampire Chronicles. The Vampire Lestat is one of my favourtie books. Go, right now. Start reading! My list is also rididulously long so I won't list it here.
Indeed, who doesn't like Fight Club? I haven't met a non-fan yet. This was one of the films with which I had the unfortunate experience of walking into a friend's living room at the climax of the movie, thus seeing the end before I'd seen any of the film. Ruins it just a little upon another...
I agree that if there is to be change, it must come from within the Islamic religion. I was unaware of the birth control fact, I wouldn't have thought it could happen. I worry about how Islamic men in positions of power could react to this issue. Certainly you would hope that the majority are...
Mmmm...how does one leave quickly like a row boat? I wasn't aware that row boats were in the habit of hurrying away.
Oh, and I can't help with the book.
