I know! I mean, I understand the theory behind it (we've all seen or read War of the Worlds), but they should have screamed "Uggghh, I'm melting, oh what a world!"
Gasp! I just had a horrible thought. What if it's Hermione and Ron! Noooooooooo(ad infinitum).
I musn't think such horrible things. Here's hoping it's Pettigrew and Snape (although he may surprise us yet), if you discount the obvious Voldy death.
It was just a whole new perspective on issues that were given very little time in my high school classes. Particularly marxism and the theory behind communism. At high school it was all "communism is evil blah blah blah", but higher education (including this textbook) taught me to read deeper...
It was probably my first year uni sociology text. Can't remember the name or title now, but it got me thinking about stuff that I thought I knew about (feminism, class differences, politics) in a whole new way. It wasn't my major, but it's a course I'm so glad that I took.
Sounds quite interesting. I'm not a fan really, I've never read the books and only seen the movies once.
Are the issues dealt with ones of logical problems within the SW universe, or general hatred of the stories?
I lie all the time. Well, not so much lie as...embellish a few details here and there? It doesn't bother me, because I usually don't realise that I'm even doing it. How bad is that!
Usually these embellishments are to make a slightly uninteresting story more entertaining, so it's really for...
Death is the result of the various components of our body shutting down after a designated time period. Our hearts can only beat so many times, the cells of our brain will only function for so long before they degenerate, nerves and muscle also break down. It's biology. It's the nature of our...
Okay, my source for most of these is the 'net, so I'm not sure how credible they are. Thought provoking, though:
Amen. I could have told you that.
Does this mean that I have 43 particularly strong muscles and 17 not so hot ones? :)
Awesome. Cool maths is fun.
Not sure who you're talking to here, but speaking for myself, the movie becomes more annoying the more I watch it. Unbreakable, on the other hand, keeps getting better.
Go figure.
Ohhhhhhhhh!
Weren't we all hoping for an 07/07/07 release date? Raspberries. Still muchly excited, anyway. Two character deaths...ye gods. I hope it's not a cop-out and she kills, say, Filch and Madam Rosmerta or something.
I think I will have a minor heart attack if it's a Weasley....
I love The Shins! I wasn't actually aware that they had a new album out (I'm really far behind with these things). I first heard them when most people did, I guess - through Garden State.
I saw them live at the Falls Festival last New Years, and they were awesome! It was strange, because they...
Seriously? You could run a pig in a suit and he'd be more welcomed over here (by myself and the remaining rational sector of society, at least). Then again, a pig in a suit...Bush...pig in suit....Bush...much of a muchness, isn't it?
To be honest I haven't read or heard much about Clinton or...
I rewatched Signs yesterday and I agree with you, Zolipara. I felt like I was having "be spiritual, dammit" banged over my head. I'm not sure why this hasn't bothered me much on previous viewings.
I understand that it was a film about redemption (on a global scale as well as personally for Mel...
