well I mislaid it last month, so I'll get back to it after the current book: The Crimson petal and the white (which I'm getting less and less enamored with as I read- only 150 pages left)

I quite like the currently reading thread. It generates discussion on the books in question at least some of the time (an effect that editing your profile doesn't quite accomplish).
As an additional extra though, I don't see the harm in it.
Well, I've temporarily mislaid Middlesex whilst moving, so I'm currently reading Micheal Faber's The Crimson Petal and the White. I've been told some pretty nasty stuff about the ending.
So far, it's written well, and if you want something akin to 'slice of life' in 1850s London it's good...
