Well, I'm still reading Clive Barker's Imajica at the mo, but I realised my 'to read' pile had reduced itself to just 3 or 4 books . To avoid a potential crisis the bookstore in town just happened to be holding a 3 for 2 thingy (you know where all this is going ;) ).
Anyway...
crapping my pants and preparing for a clinical (as a pose to a theory) exam day after tommorow. I've been prodding people and performing a number of histories and examinations (cardiovascular, respiratory, abdominal, neurological amongst others) on a number of people.
Glad everyone's...
Well, if you like fantasy settings, you could start with 'A Game of Thrones' -book 1 of 'A song of Ice and Fire.' Personally, I prefer 'Fevre Dream' which is more horror orientated, and IMHO better written without resorting to as many shock tactics to advance the plot (Oh it's also a stand-alone...
Done it:

It's all a matter of making sure that everything isn't linked together. This would make a decent 2 player game
It seems to be a good learning experience though. As you've said, I don't see a problem as long as it doesn't get too excessive.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to a resolution of the cliffhanger.
I don't see why more people couldn't get involved provided they join before the end of the...
Well, using fluffy bunny I get:
Skulking out of the tarmac, wielding a bladed baseball bat, cometh Fluffy Bunny! And he gives a mighty bellow:
"I'm going to contort you so thoroughly, you will polymorph into Cthulhu!!"

On the other hand, if I use my real name...
I've read Nightingale. It wasn't bad, though it didn't really stand out as more than a simple revenge story for me.
I was wondering that as well. It's one thing to change the covers a little after the series is finished, but in the middle of a series  I guess it's a marketing ploy to...
Can you stick me at the bottom of the list rather than my relatively high ranking pls- have finals today, tommorow and next week (the 29th), and I'm not prepared to write much til they end.
Finished Bujold's A Civil Campaign. Not much 'science' to the fiction this time (Bujold's written this particular one as a romantic comedy - she seems to change genres with each book to keep things interesting). Still, an enyoyable fluffy read.
Also read through a load of books for finals...
Gave up on Ian M Bank's Against a Dark Background a quarter of the way through (about 100 pages) as it wasn't appealing to me despite enjoying Player of Games
Since then have read:
RL Stephenson's The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde - I quite like the victorian style of writing...
Books seem to have a higher 'good to crap ratio', but part of the reason for that's because due to the number of books that have probably been produced throughout the ages, only the most popular stand the test of time and can be found in today's bookshops. The older crap books (along with a...
Well, quite a few interviews are done over the phone now. I'd still like to sic Martin on Ian Banks ;)
I'm up for attempting to bash out an article or 2 next month. A tad busy at the mo, but after April, I've got a few books to catch up for book clubs -War and Peace and Chiang's Stories of...
