I'll probably go and see it at the cinema but don't mind if I miss it. The housemate will drag me along as soon as possible, but I may wait until the new year before I do so.
I enjoy the books more than the films, but even the books aren't superb and are, in my opinion, quite racist...
I think this is more a case of putting the band horizontally around the whole book, therefore keeping it shut tight around the contents and attachements, rather than, what I also first thought, using the band vertically and marking the current page whilst 'binding' those that have been read or...
oi - you leave Hardy well alone young man!! A very fine writer that is not accepted enough for the genius hw was (especially amongst the Dutch).
"Because we are too menny" can't beat it. (granted this is from Jude, not from Tess, but still - very good)

I have never used that package, but it sounds like the page margins are larger than the print margins. This means that the writing goes further to the edge of the page on screen than it does on the printing paper.
When you go to the print screen look at the options you have and attempt to...
Hi there headpodd, welcome to the forum.
I've only ever read one Pratchett, The Colour of Magic, but look forward to reading more sometime soon. There's a few threads floating around on the subject too - if you can find them :)

I beg to differ - the dictionary classes a book as:
"A set of written, printed, or blank pages fastened along one side and encased between protective covers."
basically pages that are bound.
This does, however, make me wonder when writing is classed as a book. Could Jack Kerouac have...
Well said Ell.
If you went out to buy a writing pad you would be disappointed if you got anything but blank pages.
I think the 'empty' content may, therefore, be placed upon your expectations of what it is you expect to find or what it is you want to find.
A room, no furniture...
raven,
Can you elaborate a little on what you mean by lacking content?
I feel that all of the books I read have content worthy of the book, and it just matters whether or not that content appeals to me and captures the scenarios and characters within the book as to whether it is a good...
Hi there Andy, welcome to the forum.
I also enjoy speaking about myself in third person...yes he does. :D
Why not post an extract of your book in the Writers Showcase section of the forum so we can all take a peek at your book?
Cheers

Ell,
Could you let me know if Brick Lane is any good when you have finished it...I was thinking about reading that one.
Also, have you read any others by Jo Harris? I read Chocolat first, then followed that one up with Five Quarters' - they seemed quite samey. I have heard that...
Hi there Shaw, welcome to the forum.

Martin,
I see your new Avatar too.
When you go to a website, things such as images are placed on your PC inside a 'cache' file which is usually called 'Temporary Internet Files' in your windows folder. This happens so that next time you go to that page it will load quicker as the image...
Great idea with the sample strips Ashlea.
With my current bookmark, just a free one from WH Smith, I have taken to ripping it up as I read the book so that I can mark pages I need to go back to when I have finished the book and want to collect my thoughts for writing a review of it. Must...
